What has the UK become under the far right influence?

Cops will have their hands full this weekend.

The football fixtures are bad enough. Add this protest and it’s got the potential to be nasty.

I was in London last year with my wife and daughter and stumbled into that protest. It was very toxic.
Agree. That list of London football fixtures is the ultimate football hooligan wet dream. The staggered kick off times allow the likes of Millwall, West Ham, Spurs, and Chelsea fans to take in some of the Tommy Two Names protest as well. It could be utter carnage.

No doubt he has chosen this weekend with this is mind. Leeds in town too and Rotherham and Bolton!

Dont they need permission for these protests?

Don't underestimate the lack of morals of power-hungry politicians when the chance to be the ruling party, even as part of a coalition, presents itself. Just ask the Lib Dems.
I totally get that, but at the moment, if the electorate vote as they say they will, it's unlikely a coalition between each and any of the parties would gain enough MP's to form a working government.

Wasn't as bad as the BLM riots in London with people running around stabbing others

Hell, neither are as bad as Notting Hill "Carnival"

You love peddling this shit, constantly posting clips of psychos, fascists and morons to bolster your own sense of moral superiority, you're as guilty as all these fuckers for what's going on now.

There are some died in the wool racists and bigots out there, but what you're doing you sanctimonious twat is no better than the bile Tommy Robinson spews.

The difficulty is that this is a leader of a UK based political party.
He is not your average moron, nor psychopath. He is a political leader with a voice and followers, no matter how abhorrent his views. As recently as 2016, UKIP was led by Nigel Farage.
He, naturally, wears the crucifix so beloved of those who speak on Donald's behalf while they bend truth to promote their distorted world view.

I have not looked back on the last few pages of this thread, so I don't know how tribal it has become, but it seems that what we are seeing here is exactly what we are seeing on the streets of our nation - utter polarisation with fractured room for discussion. My opinion, FWIW, is that where we are at now is the direct result of political interference in our way of life. Politicians have sought to isolate and cement their vote by building walls between the sides of the electorate. Through it, words like gammon, snowflake, woke, radical, lefty, and racist have been slung about and nobody dares to cross to the other side. Papers have done the same. The Daily Mail, today, reads like a eulogy to Charlie Kirk and follows the 'radical left' line uttered by Donald, without a suspect nor motive. It is a nonsense, especially given Kirk's recent comments about Epstein and how the files should be opened, and about the actions of Benjamin Netanyahu. Remember, this man was the social media voice of MAGA, and to then be speaking against the very essence of it (support for Trump and Israel) would earn him plenty of enemies outside the limited scope of Donald's mind.

What are the Tommy simps protesting about this weekend?

You know, you could really profit from this, like the half and half scarfs people buy for no logical reason.

Half St Georges Flag. the other half a Stella logo. Or Strongbow/Strongbow fruits

Would make a packet

I just read that Rupert Lowe MP made £40k from his Twitter posts last year. If you know his posts, you can see why stirring-the-pot is so commonplace - it is lucrative - and people like Darren Grimes don't post so voraciously, nor biliously, because they have a conscience about the good of the nation - they do it because posting controversy makes money.

It's six of one and half a dozen of the other you know, the usual suspects stoking division, it's tribal, it's time to turn down the heat, get the adults in the room and do nothing, and if we do nothing and we don't talk about it, when it starts to get cold and rainy and the nights draw in, it'll all blow over and go away, blah, blah, blah, blah....

What we'll never do is tell folk we did this deliberately, that we cobbled together a bullshit "ism" to under pin it, cooked up a myth that we've always been a country of immigrants and condemn anyone who says otherwise, we'll deny the existence of an indigenous population or an indigenous culture and we'll trash our history, then we'll wrap it all up in niceness and fairness and kindness and inclusivity, and after a while this made up bollocks will be the new reality

I mean why....

If memory serves it didn't work out too well for Jack.

I am not sure of your point in this reply.
We have always been a country of immigrants though, that is a fact.
That is not to say that there is no pre-existing culture. Of course there is.
Trashing our history? There is only truth. As more is discovered, history changes.
This is true of man's earliest origins as it is the theory of evolution.

As for why?
For portions of British history, we have welcomed immigration to fill essential services, and yes, we did do that deliberately.
It became essential for parts of the country to embrace new demographics - from Asians in the Lancashire textile industry to the Windrush generation in the West Midlands.
Now, the world is faced with economic inequality, war, and climate change. People will flee those circumstances. We HAVE TO embrace it because it is not going to change.
Politicians who tell you that they will stop immigration are lying.
They are whipping up a storm for their own ends.

No doubt you're right, one could list a whole bunch of grifters and charlatans, right wingers and fanatics, morons and racists and ridicule them all day, it's all one poster ever does. You could expose their lies and deceptions, and the crimes and outrages committed in the name of their bogus patriotism.

And yet....No one can be in any doubt that they've seized the moment, the wind is in their sails and they, or folk very much like them, are the bookies favourites to win power.

How could this be?

Hardship.
In difficult times, and there have been so many in recent years, those in difficult circumstances will seek others to blame.
Some politicians take advantage of that. Some papers do too. They feed the natural beast that lurks in some people. As more and more begin to be more open about their feelings, it legitimises and emboldens others.
Dangerous times, whichever side of the divide you occupy.
