These games always feel like a cup semi or final to me. Form seems to go out the window and they're becoming a bit of a curse like Spuds.
I've no idea who will win but I'm guessing a draw.
Why we go into the season without replacing Kyle I have no idea.
 
I'm wide awake, can't sleep, derby day nerves kicking in, hate this fixture more than any other, hope we don't play walking pace football.
Train at 11.35, town for a few nerve calmers, hopefully smash the vermin but not overly confident.
 
Have been more confident these last few years than today. Still expect us to win. It’ll make life a lot more pleasant to say the least. Come on you blues!!
 
Hard to pick a team for this (or any game at the moment), as it feels there are always fairly glaring weaknesses somewhere.

All told, I’d probably go:

with Stones going into midfield with Rodri.

More viably, given that we’ve seemingly torched playing that way:

——Bernardo——Rodri——Reijnders—-
————Foden——Haaland————Doku

Nunes to get up and down the right, Foden to play infield closer to Haaland. Doku wider on the left. Gvardiol to defend with Ake/Dias and Stones.

Bloody hell, reading some of the comments on here I thought I’d been teleported back to the 80’s and 90’s when we rarely had a cat in hell's chance against our neighbours. A draw was considered a good result.
We’re 3 games into the new season.
We’ve just signed the world’s best keeper.
We have the current Balon D’Or winner.
We have the world’s best goal scoring centre forward.
Yes, we’ve been shaky at the back but I’ve got every faith in our lads today.
Go out there and smash them.
I think (hope) today could be a very special day, in a good way.

I’ve got a proper skip in my step this morning for this game. Already up, showered and sat with a brew watching MOTD. The only fucker is the kick off time, and filling the time between this very moment and beer o’clock, which is scheduled in my derby day diary for 1400 hours.
