25 | Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2025/26

The praise today is OTT, same as the criticism first time he messes up.

We have lost a legend in Ederson, for me he’s the best I have seen and to win 6/8 PL’s is special.

Today, did however feel like we had the right man to replace him.

Feels weird that he’s only 26, that we got him from PSG and that it was around £26 million.

Could be our best ever GK

We have all seen his brilliant saves, comfortable play with his feet, commanding presence in the box, great punching ability, and so on. I would like to focus on something else.

From the team bus welcome, he was relaxed, smiling, high fiving the kids. More than other players. Reminded me of Grealish in that regard.

His warm up seemed more intense, something
different than I have seen before with our other keepers, he was throwing himself to the ground more, etc. Then, he hugged some teammates, high fived every single one of our back 4. During the actual match, he kept on gesticulating, communicating with Pep, his teammates, even the fans. Again, more than anyone else on the team.

What I am getting at here is that he brings so much positivity, such an aura, or presence, whatever you call it, he already looks like he has been a part of our team for years. Everything with a smile on his face.

That's why for me, he is massive for us on and off the pitch. Perhaps it's no coincidence that suddenly the likes of Dias played better, we kept a clean sheet, and we won with ease when we have struggled against them in recent times. I call it the Gigio effect ;). Overall, 9/10 for me, outstanding.

Thought he was absolutely fine with both feet calm and assured as good as any aside from the obvious one and that’s with one training session with his new team mates
He went long a lot from dead balls in the 2nd half which resulted in us being camped in our half to a shite United side.

Obviously we’ll keep working on it and his save from that volley more than made up for our weaker build up play.

Just dawned on me that we're getting save of the month for september with that one. Two consecutive save of the month awards for city. What are the odds haha

He did yeah but that seem to me like City letting them have the ball and hitting on the break the opposite of our usual MO I was referring more to his short to medium passes
What a save though

Fuck off.

If you can't even back a blue out of the academy who made a world class save vs Brighton that's as good as Donnarummas if not better, what's the fucking point??
It wasn’t better though. It was a very good save but the one today was different level. Shame for Trafford that he’ll have to move on again at the end of the season. More bizarre planning in the transfer window but we had to sign a work class keeper once Ederson left
