33 | Nico O'Reilly - 2025/26

Im gonna be a bit of a contrarian here, but right now, I think he is better as a LB bombing down the wing.

He isn't quite doing enough in midfield, either inverted or starting there, and the starting midfielders offer more.

Im sure his future is likely in midfield, but currently, he is best as a bombing wingback.
Spot on. Simplifies the game for a young player coming onto the ball with his physicality and crossing. Haven't seen enough from him in tight spaces to play midfield.

Decent performance i like him a lot just a bit passive when defending at times but that’s understandable considering he’s not a natural defender

Quite happy with his defensive contributions, but his passing left alot to be desired.

Which is odd if midfield is his supposed preferred position.

He is a weird one, I cannot figure out what is best for him long term, for us, it's LB though.

Didn't notice him today, which is a compliment, he doesn't look out of place ever. Great pospect

I enjoyed his performance. Don't recall him being beaten down the line when in position, but it may have happened once or twice.

What I really liked was his (I'm sure it was a) 'no look' meg than led to the Haaland 2nd. I'm sure he was looking down the line at one of the defenders when he popped it through the oppo's legs.

It was deft and beautiful!

Had Mbeumo in his pocket, great 1v1 defending, won many defensive headers in midfield. Top match, great spirit as well.

Him and Kuz closing both sides for most parts is giving me hope that we'll see that tactical setup often this season.

I think he might be the best academy player at the club after Foden.
The competition is hardly fierce after the amount of class academy players we’ve let go. Definitely has more potential than Rico though and actually has a lot of potential

Considering he doesn’t get much help, he played well. Doku was great today but his defensive awareness is still lacking and Savinho was pathetic when he came on.

A good game from him.

He seems to do that a lot.

Should be first choice there whilst we ease ait-nouri in as he hasn't looked convincing yet.
