United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just looking at the bigger picture.

We spent most of that 2nd half camped in our box unable to get out aimlessly punting the ball upfield. At home. To an absolutely shite United side.

The drop off from where we were 3 years ago is staggering.
We won the match, kept a clean sheet and had a multi-goal lead most of that second half.

Personally, I’d say you’re looking at the smaller picture.

Whilst I can appreciate why you are concerned, context is important. The game was done and it suited us to draw them onto us and counter. We have two big games to come in the next week. Didn't need to do anything else.

But, like you say, the City of old would have played keep ball for the final 10 mins and they wouldn't have had a sniff.

It was win at all costs today though, I wasn't bothered about the performance. We can take the confidence from that one into the CL. And then we will get a better measure against the tarquins.

United actually had a good record against us at the Etihad during that period you speak of.

You must be a pretty miserable person to be making these posts the night of winning a derby 3-0.

Plenty of positives but the main one being a thumping derby victory! The likes of Rodri,
Foden, Dias, looking more like the quality players we’re used to seeing, Dona’s debut also very encouraging, thought he was tidy enough with his feet, one world class save and dealt with every cross in an accomplished and dominating fashion, Arsenal may be a more severe examination in that regard.

Doku was dangerous today and a fairly constant threat down the left, but overall we looked like a side completely locked in to the fact we can’t lose three games so early in the season and need to start gaining ground now. Haaland was a beast today, which I knew he would be after knocking five in for Norway midweek.

so how did we play?

ive seen nothing of the game barring the goals as I was on a train back from London for a large part of the day

What a weird performance. Absolutely no control of the game, scoring from transitions/counters. It’s the kind of way we’d usually lose a game when we’re having a bad day.

Thought they looked better on the ball.

We’ll get torn to shreds by Arsenal next week going off that.

Hahahaha!! Obviously looking for some nibbles on this post!
