Anyone watching? It'll be good to see the union flag reclaimed from the baying mob by some hopelessly out of touch middle class folk.
Surely post BLM the finale sequence needs a tweak though with all its echoes of colonialism? As follows:

arr. Wood Fantasia on British Sea-Songs 13’
Arne, arr. Sargent Rule, Britannia! 3’
Elgar Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 in D major (‘Land of Hope and Glory’) 8’
Parry, orch. Elgar Jerusalem 2’
arr. Britten The National Anthem 2’
Trad., arr. P. Campbell Auld lang syne 2’

Sticking the token Scotch bit on the end hardly papers over it. I'm off to bed, but hopefully some bored social justice busy body will sort this out and somehow link it to trump/Rodney king etc.

The tune Bill Bailey just did used to be played on Junior Choice in the 60’s. It’s nothing new.

Loved it.
Scores of talented musicians and singers with undoubted talent.

As the  yoof would say, Jerusalem is a "choooon"

Pity all the RWNJs in the audience didn't follow the lead of the England fans at Villa Park, last week, and give us a couple of renditions of "Kier Starmer's a wanker".
Still, there's always next year.

Brilliant ! Let's get a few more EU flags too - that'll learn "em

I used to watch it as a kid when there were just two channels, BBC and ITV. Mum and Dad only watched ITV when Morecambe and Wise were on. Then the Last Night of the Proms became a Hooray Henry Sloane Ranger flag waving fest for yuppies, and I haven’t watched it since the early 1970s.

The format is due to change in 2099. The Beeb said they didn’t want to let the last night go stale.
