Hope you're right - I can't visualise a situation where you are simultaneously controlling a game and counter attacking, though?

There are many ways to control a game. Chelsea 04/06 controlled games very well without lots of possession. That's not what Pep works towards, but given our current problems we may be more willing to stay compact in defence IF we lead by a goal or two. They'll attack us if they are losing. Instead of trying to keep the ball longer, we'll try to hit them fast, at least when the opportunities are there. Again, that's not what Pep wants long term, but the important thing now is to win as many games as possible.

Not too worried about Napoli, if I’m honest. Strong side in Serie A terms, but they’re off the level needed to deal with a top 6 EPL clubs

Reckon it’ll actually be a more comfortable watch than Spurs the other night, who pressed us properly and made it a bit of a scrap. Napoli won’t play like that – they'll give us more space, which suits us down to the ground. Could be the perfect game for someone like Reijnders to shine, if he starts – he thrives in these more technical, open games.

Just need to stay switched on at the back and we’ll have too much for them
Inter at home first game last season wasn’t exactly easy

I hope you're right but disagree.

Conte will have them properly set up and organised. They have a lot of very good, confident and experienced players. They'll target our weaknesses.

We have some players a level above what they have, but are early in the shaping of a new side. I'd say we're just about favourites, but it will be very difficult.

I think there is a slight bit of disrespect being shown to Napoli in this thread.

They are a solid team under Conte, Italian champions and battle hard when needed. I wouldn't look too much into them having the likes of Mctominay and even Hojlund and judging them based on their individual personnel. They are a solid and well drilled team.

Last seasons CL group stage campaign showed that if you take for granted the first few fixtures thinking you can make it up in the end you will come up stuck. This FA Cup knockout style of only playing each other once has made the group stage a far bigger challenge than the older format.

Foden, Rodri, Gvardiol and Khusanov are only just back from injuries so it will be interesting to see what sort of team plays on Thursday.

Definitely, top of Serie A, 3 played and 3 won, one goal conceded. Inter showed how difficult Italian teams are in last season’s nil nil

Because the chumps league have got a shed more teams to squeeze in week on week, it'll be Friday kick offs as well in a few years.
They have the same format as last year.
The very first week of matches are spread over 3 days and varying kick off times. I think it is the competitions way of " introducing " us to all the teams. After this week the matches will be played on the Tuesday and Wednesday.
They will be doing the same with the other European competitions for the first week too.

Not sure how it helps as a lot of people will still only look at their own team.

Still hoping for a kev 3 day niggle to keep him out of this. I do not want to see him in another shirt.

Napoli with a decent number of quality players on paper but not sure if that's just my paranoid take on it. They're sitting top the league but have amassed that run on the backs of juggernauts Florintina, Cagliari and Sassoulo.

Do not like the quick turnaround for the Arse game to follow and would have much preferred playing Napoli on a handful of days rest after ManUre but what can you do.

Can anyone help (fucking website!) - my son is on the direct debit scheme 18 to 21, my brother is on my son’s family and friends (over 65), when I try and transfer the ticket from my son to his uncle it says not not all tickets were matched successfully, I assume this is because my lad is 18 to 21 and I show my brother as over 65 (which he is) but if this is the problem I can’t show my brother as being 18 to 21? Anyone had this problem? Our website and ticketing has been abysmal for decades. Bern on hold for 40 mins so far

Edit I assume transferring the ticket to family and friends is allowed?
My guess is although the pricing may be the same as there are different age categories it may not work. Also check the preseason email on the new parameters on friends and family.

Hi WG, after an hour and 20 mins wait they said I had to select my brother who is aged 70 not as an over 65 but as an 18 to 21 because apparently the prices are the same. If City think it’s logical that for the new owner who is 70 there is a drop down that says choose either
Under 18
18 to 21
Adult
Over 65

you chose 18 to 21, NOT over 65 it’s fucking not logical

But I think you were right pal

West Gordon’s right
The websites shite

In coming seasons there will be more teams mate, the ESL is alive and kicking.
