Russian invasion of Ukraine

Fairly blatant Russia are testing for holes in the Nato defence. If a known theif is openly testing your home security, you dont wait around for them to try and rob you.

Need to bolster the eastern line and there has to be a strong response from Nato. Let them know that next time any Russian aircraft enters nato airspace without permission, it wont be returning.

One of the tactical views is that bolstering NATO borders and not sending that hardware to Ukraine is exactly what Russia want.

Western NATO countries could send planes to defend the baltics and still send anti aircraft to Ukraine.

I see the logic in that but NATO aren't low on supplies here. Russia risking losing some very valuable planes as collateral isn't worth whatever they think they're gaining from these clear antagonistic actions.

They're testing NATO's readines and willingness to do defend ourselves, we have to show we are more than ready and willing to respond.

Putin is testing Nato.
That plane could have done some serious damage in 12 minutes.
Back in 2015 another Russian combat aircraft was repeatedly warned that they were about to enter a NATO countries airspace, and 17 seconds after they did, it was shot down.

Result: no more incursions by Russian aircraft on NATO countries airspace.

Not sure why Turkey’s actions weren’t repeated in Estonia, admittedly they didn’t have a full scale war happening a short way away, but 2015 is only a year after the forced annexation of the Crimea.
It didn’t cause too many issues with military ties between the countries (Turkey bought an S-400 system, losing them - under Trump oddly - their F-35 aircraft purchase, and other US military sales).

For those that don't know, they've been doing it since the end of WW2 somewhere, it used to be round the top of Norway into the North Sea. I'm sure they knew what they were doing, and were warned to just fuck off back where they came from.

We don't know the details of where they actually flew, I suspect it was down the Gulf of Finland, close to the FIR boundaries between Estonia and Finland, russian planes often fly that way to get to kaliningrad.

It would also take several minutes to scramble the jets to intercept, as the crews don't sit in them, fired up waiting to go, so 12 minutes is barely anything, yes it's a "test", but that tweet above is talking nonsence imho.

The turkish aircraft were already in the air on patrol, and quite possibly had been on a mission against ISIS themselves.

The Italian planes would have been on the ground at an Estonian airbase, and the crews sat in their Ops room.

What the fucking fuck?
Trump blocks $400m military aid package to Taiwan

He's either a Russian asset, a surrender monkey or a Neville Chamberlain tribute act.
Probably all three.

The Russian disaster unfolding in Donnestsk on the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia sectors is simply astonishing.
7 settlements retaken, 60 sq miles (160 sq km) regained and the road junctions & focal points for Russian reinforcements and supplies being blitzed.

Nice to see the cunts’ summer offensive reaching a denouement.

As I said on the Trump thread he has a long history of surrendering to enemies whilst lying about it, and it’s generally Russia that benefits, although China manufacture the tat he sells in the White House gift shop so he probably wants to keep in with them as well.

Sorry - busy yesterday

He's none of them. IMO. He believes China should run the far east, The US runs Canada, Central and South America and the Russians rule the old USSR and even Europe.
That way there is world peace, they work out trade deals between them and those at the top get rich. Very rich.
It's a view a lot of influential Americans had before the 2nd World War when 'commies' ruined things.
