Might Jack Grealish play for City again?

Prime example of what i've been talking about with Jack and how he set up goals for us. Crosses the ball in for Ndiaye, who lays it up for Gueye to score.

BuT whAt Do tHE "StaTfuCKs" saY..?? Assist for Ndiaye, as if that was the primary factor in the goal.
But without Grealish's cross, there IS no goal for Gueye.

Highly unlikely but some distance from impossible.

Shame how it ended, but no question he’s a City legend. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise. He’s won the same number of trophies with the club as Colin Bell, Bert Trautmann and Frank Swift combined.

How does that not make him a City legend?

There's a 0% chance he'll ever play for City again. Unless you think Guardiola is leaving next summer along with Soriano and the rest of the technical staff at the club.

All this "city legend" stuff is embarrassing as well. Was gifted the opportunity to play in the best side in England, turned up for one season, then tossed it off for two whilst collecting 350k a week. If that makes him a "legend" in some people's eyes, they need glasses. Unprofessional dickhead is the kindest description I can think of.

I don’t feel remotely embarrassed about posting or thinking that, but then I rarely do tbf.

I think any player who played a significant role in that achievement is a legend in my eyes. Maybe winning the Treble is more significant to me than others, hence the distinction.

And what he did or didn’t do afterwards is a non-sequitur. He was at the very heart of the apogee of being a Manchester City fan and for me at least, that makes him a legend.

I’m in the middle. I have high standards for legend but I think he is a great player that wanted more freedom. I also think there is a small chance he plays for us again.

What he did or didn't do after is a "non-sequitur". Give over. He was contracted to City and didn't turn up. It's really not that difficult a thing to look at with clear eyes. He didn't give a fuck about the club because if he did he'd have behaved professionally. He didn't. Look at the lengths that Pep and City go to, to make players feel welcome. We don't do bomb squads like Chelsea. And yet Grealish wasn't taken to the CWC. Think about it. His behaviour stank the place out. All this starry eyed "oh he won the treble" bollocks is exactly that, bollocks. Players at a club with our standards, have to meet a baseline of professionalism. Those who don't get fucked off. He's in that camp.

As I said, winning the Treble may mean more to me than others. And we all have different definitions of what constitutes a legend, which is plainly a subjective notion. It’s no biggie.

I don't think he'll ever play for us again, I think that ship has sailed now.

It was best for both parties that they parted ways, Grealish needed a change and we also needed to shake things up.

Very good player, nothing bad to say about it, he was a success at City regardless of the media narrative. £100m for x5 Trophies in a single season is worth the money alone.

No, I agree it's not a biggie. But please don't make this about the treble or about how much it means to you in comparison to others. The treble was won by the club. Not by any individual. And I'm sure it means the same to all of us Blues.

Hear hear.

Heard from a good source he had a problem with the sniff, which got resolved. Then mainly a mental health issue. He's someone who needs to be playing every week. The more he didn't play the more his mental health took a dive.
Didn't his family home get broken into too.
So obviously the club have found a solution for both parties. Can't see him coming back however.
Good lad. Wish him all the best. Unprofessional? I'm not sure

Not having that with the sniff. If your source knows, the players would know and there is no way he would be as popular as he is with them if he was involved in that.

I'm amazed that so much emphasis was always placed upon what this 20-something did in his spare time.

I never once saw him show anything less than full effort on the pitch. I've also said before - for those who are locked into stats, stats and nothing but the stats - that the key pass leading to a goal is not always the final ball, so the actual creator is often given no credit for his contribution.

The reaction of the other players, whenever celebrating on the pitch, suggested that he was a very popular player, and they're the bunch who would best know whether he was pulling his weight or not.

Apart from when he's playing against City, I hope he has a terrific season.
