Might Jack Grealish play for City again?

Under a new manager, perhaps. The way hes being encouraged to get to the byline feels like the Jack of old.The shackles are off at Everton.
I always thought he was pretty limited..even at Villa..buying fouls, often. Plenty of hyperbole from the media from simply knocking in a ball from the by line..if that's considered enough from a £100m plus player tgan fk me!

Embarrassing post

People are rewriting history, because he is a nice guy. He is. And I like him.

But he has really only had at best half a season where he actually made a difference. From Christmas onwards in the treble season. In the league. He had the odd good game here and there over the 4 years, but nowhere near enough to be given the credit of winning us titles. Which is why his involvement reduced, he was dropped completely, and moved on.

Jacks 30 years old. I expect by this time next year he’ll be 31.

On that basis alone, his time with City is surely done.

We all look for different qualities in a footballer. Some will like Jacks some won’t. But one thing you can’t overcome is age.

For the record I’ve enjoyed Jacks time with us and wish him all the best.

You need to cite sources if you're going to make wild predictions like that bud.

That is fair, as a standalone remark.

But a bit out of context to both your and my points.
He was crucilal in helping us win a title, and ultimately the treble. Yet some of our fans treat him like he's Weah or Robinho.

Fact is, he loves this club, he loves our fans, he loves City, he is his own biggest critic, he is a confidence player and he's been down on it for a while, he's had a huge 'price-tag' criticism he's tried to shake off since day one, it was OUR expectations of him that some label him a 'waste of money' when he never played that way for any other team. We didn't buy him to score goals, we bought him to make them, and as I pointed out previously, those stats are never listed; it's either goalscorer or assist, not the guy who got the ball up into position in the first place.

He worked hard, hardly put in any 'worst player' performances, was usually a catalyst in turning around results, won free kicks, was a master of shithousery, was usually the last guy to give the ball to the assister, popped up with a few himself and revelled in every title and cup win we ever had along with us.

But that £100m tho....

You are responding to others' comments with that though, not mine.

I am simply pointing out, his being 'crucial' to multiple trophies is overstated, and his defining contribution can really be brought up to at best 1 title over his 4 years here. And even that was really for less than half the season Imo. That's 1 out of 9 trophies, that he has influenced.

All else, his being nice, possibly working hard, arguably loving the club etc, doesn't change that. And that's why he is no longer here.

Would I trade that contribution of his for anything, absolutely not! I value that, and that in itself and it being part of the treble and also 4 in a row is more than enough for me. But that is ultimately where it ends.

My point is simple, and a response to something you asked. No need to conflate it with the general theme of the threads, although I myself have been guilty of often doing that in the past, so I do get it.

I have a theory that is probably a load of rubbish but I think a call was made by the club to cut ties to protect our golden goose, Erling Haaland. Obviously the two had become great friends but I think Grealish’s general professionalism, in particular his drinking, was at risk of rubbing off and the club thought best to move on.

As previously said this is just simply a thought I had, could be and probably is complete bollox.

When you're right, you're right, it's a load of rubbish and complete bollox.

Did Grealish score 14 goals, get 19 g/a in the league ever in any season?

Doesn’t help to further your point mentioning Robinho.

don’t Think so. The ship has sailed . Everton might buy him for a lower fee than 50Mil of course. ( before I get banned from the usual Grealish thread )

Ah, you must have thought I was comparing and not talking about how City fans feel about him on a professional level.

Bless. If I had said "Danny Mills", would you have gotten the point (The one you completely missed?)
