I was lucky to have 2 half

when I first started going in the pub the pack horse on the height and getting served in 1968 it was 11 1/2p for bitter and
10 1/2p for a pint of mild.

I remember a pint of bitter being 9p in the Osram social club in Shaw, Oldham

I used to drink quite a lot and frequently when working I’d drink 3 pints of Boddies in half an hour at dinner. 5 days a week and had a proper drink at night the Pack Horse on the Height around 10 pints or more.

I remember being dragged into the Willows (Salford Rugby Club) they sold Greenalls I had 5 horrible pints and promptly threw my ring up.

Obviously the jokes and chants write themselves but Imagine Pep or Klopp or any top manager saying that. You’ve achieved jack shit, your club is literally an international laughing stock and narrowly avoided relegation and you come out with a statement like that.
