And that’s why the mid terms will not happen and indeed I don’t think there will even be another election in the usa. Unless Trump does before then he’s not giving up power.I don’t think it’s been fit for purpose for a very long time, it’s just survived by not being tested too much until now.

It's not falling apart. Trump is tearing it to shreds.The US Constitution is no longer fit for purpose.
For most of its history it’s been a hugely effective document. Far from perfect of course, but (broadly) brought stability, freedom and progress to the States.
But there has to come a point where it’s no longer working effectively. And I believe that time is now. It’s remarkable it stayed effective for as long as it did tbh.
It’s one of the most remarkable documents in human history. But it’s time is done imo. It’s all falling apart.
