He also played a blinder while he was on - the rehab phase is long past - he's in the the business of increasing his match minutes now.
He’s still in his rehab phase.

Can take up to 18 months after ACL surgery for the knee to be at elite sport physical conditioning again and up to 24 months to completely ligamentise the hamstring tendon operated on to replace the original ACL.

He only got the injury 364 days ago today and only had the surgery six days later.

I would be surprised if Martinelli was in the starting lineup. We will most likely be up against Eze and Maduake. Eze is the worry as he seems to play well against us.
This is correct. Martinelli is probably a sub.

Another thing is many of our fanbase are fanny wipes- if it stays 0-0 for a long time or City score the nervousness and tension will transmit from the stands to the players. I've seen this happen many times

With Odergaard out, I imagine Martinelli, Eze and Madueke will play as a three around Gyokeres.

We won the league in 2014 losing 6 games.
I mean respectfully our competition is better now than back then. You’ve got a solid Arsenal team and a Liverpool team that somehow scams wins

Cant see past a comfortable Arsenal win unfortunately. Our record v the better teams is woeful and i think they will have too much pace and energy for us

Stones is our best defender at winning aerial duels (Gvardiol second, Aké third, Dias fourth). Against an Arsenal team who rely on set piece headed goals, it wouldn’t be shoehorning Stones in (if he was fit enough to play), it would be a wise team selection.
Difference between him and Josko is negligible and Khusanov is great in the air. We have Gigi to help deal with the set pieces aswell. Don't change a settled back 4.

Stones is done barring an injury crisis for me. He was poor against Spurs and Brighton and going off to England and coming back injured again just defies belief, straight to the bottom of the pecking order. 2023 Stones doesn't exist anymore, he's a lame horse.

I’d start the same side as the derby

The defence certainly has to remain as the derby. O’Reilly has got to be careful not to get done down his side, I’m slightly more nervous about him than Khusanov down his flank. Dias and Gvardiol have to play surely. We also need another man-mountain performance from Haaland helping out the defence where required, like last week.

I was at work last night with a United fan, not one of those awful ones but nevertheless one who took great delight in reminding me that if we lose, they are above us in the league on equal games. Which, considering how garbage they are, is a little of bit of a kicker.

If someone offered me a draw before the game today I’d probably take it. Arsenal will be the best side we’ve faced so far.

Plenty of beer at the ready to celebrate / drown sorrows (delete as appropriate).
