Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Disappointed, but that is normal given we were close to taking all three points.
I felt we brought pressure on ourselves by defending so in many respects we lost the gamble that they couldn't break through us.

Haaland should probably have played to Foden when we had a great counter... but its easy to see things from the armchair.

A draw is probably a fair result. Neither of us looked amazing but I do feel we have room for improvement whilst Arsenal are probably as good as they're going to get.

Onwards and upwards.
Whereas we will improve . Big time.

Some of these so called pundits…
Arsenal were pretty poor despite having a lot of the ball. They have fuck all up top. That CF who they paid a mint for is a championship player.
We switched off, mainly due to our back 4 being disrupted. Ake had a mare and just looks so off the pace. Maybe not fit? Stones is clearly not fit! Khusanov was outstanding and was a big loss. Nunes is just shit… Another comedy performance from him, falling on his arse continually.
A result that was probably fair, Arsenal are not a threat… We will eat them next time round.

We played thursday night, have players out injured, we were a few minutes away from a hard fought win at Arsenal. Give em some credit.
I did we fought hard like an Everton
But thats pretty much all we showed. Could have been any team digging in and almost snatching a victory. You need a bit more quality tbh.

Like Pep just said we played this way because the opposition are better, its been a while since thats been the case. Last season was the start and if we're honest we dont know where we are. People got too giddy over the last 2 results.
Best just to chill and see what happens.

Take a lot of positives away from that but feels tough given we are already chasing teams who didn’t lose early. Still the last three matches we have shown grit, fight and togetherness.
We are - though we often are the
Other way around - we don’t lose later on in the final stretches. Long way to go, tenacity is the key now…

Threw 3pts awayBUT will settle for a point everyday of the week there .Dont mind a steely backs to the wall performance reminds me of the Mancini era . Well done both peps for coming up with another system and we can only do that with someone of Donnarummas stature in goal . Nice run of fixtures now to get some proper points on the board .
Up the blues CTID

That is exactly my point that I made before the game. We will get a point here and there and lose this game and that game. We were beating fucking everybody a few years ago. I am starting to wonder why we have lost this mentality.
It's not the mentality - the team make up has changed and the new lads need to settle in. Regardless, Arsenal away is tough as fuck. We take the piss, but they have finished 2nd for three years for a reason - they are the best team out of possession in the league and have added more attacking weapons. A point away at them is no mean feat.

Just listened to the analysis saying we created nothing on the counter in the second half. Other than the goal Arsenal created fuck all and the best chance in the second half was Haaland through on goal where he should have squared it to Foden for a tap in.

That was the best chance of that second half’s

It was great to see the togetherness of the team, especially the defenders, when they successfully repulsed attack after attack.

The high fives and hugs are back.

Is it because of there being more teams in the champions league that games are played on Thursday? I’ll take that result given the short rest. They played their hearts out and being that it’s only September I can’t be too upset about taking a point away. Look at how Arsenal celebrated a draw lol Come talk to me again in February and March.
Good post
maybe you are right ,but 7 points out of 5 games is not good and haven´t seen much that this season will be much better than last one. Today didn´t insist much positivity for me also ,maybe for others it does ,not for me :(
your opinion respected. However we had 3 very tough games to contend with. 7 points after our fixtures this past week is good. Several players injured or coming back from injuries, having to play the same team with no rotation takes its toll too.
Give the team your support. Things will get better for sure.

I’d have taken a draw at the start gutted the way it ended. Pep needs to take a lot of credit for that performance we played like I never thought he’d set up all in all very happy with 2 wins and a draw from the 3 games in a week

Fine with that.

Which means: I’m not going to celebrate it. I’ll let Arteta and the Arsenal fans celebrate that point because they know how hard it was fought (by them to equalise), and also they haven’t won the premier league in generations (which shows from their small fry mentality in celebrating as they did).

Unlike them, we know what it’s like to win the league. We know how to do it too. We might not this season (a somewhat realistic admission), but they certainly won’t. At least we have the fire in our belly again. Today was about grit and stamina and we nearly got over the line with all 3 points if it wasn’t for a fluke.

Not many clubs I’ve despised over the years supporting city, but perhaps because I live in Highbury and have to see and listen to their fans regularly (many of whom clearly only started watching football 3 - 5 years ago), last season I caught myself surprised willing Liverpool on to beat them to the league. I don’t have anything to fear in that regard now nor any personal conflicts - this Arsenal team is nothing special and they won’t win anything important with that fraud of a manager.

Subs today not great by Pep - I can see why he made them and hindsight could have gone either way. Erling back to being a beast. We seem willing to adapt and fight. Give it a year or two and we’ll win the lot again.

Not sure what you were watching Nunes was fine. Arsenal are not a threat? A threat to what? Our 9th place:-)

The three points should have been ours.

Doku is quickly becoming a very important player for us.

Also,

Jamie Carragher speaking for Sky sports before the game “I think Arsenal will have too much for city, Arsenal are a top team”.

(Manchester City have won the Premier League title 4 times in the last 5 years)

Is it just a short memory this fella has or stupid as well?
Scouser mate what do you expect

If your going to compare to last season we took 3 points from the equivalent fixtures. Were rebuilding and changing our style of play it will take time.
