Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I thought we were superb defensively..we surrendered possession but they didn't really do much with it.
Referee was fucking awful..gave us fuck all and gave them everything but then again it was Twatwell.
If Khus hadn't gone off at half time I think we would have held on for the 3 points.
Baring in mind we played Thursday night and they had an extra 2 days to recover we did well to stay so competitive.
Obviously the changes made a big difference but Doku was fucked..he ran his bollocks off.. definitely one of his best games.
Erling finished so well for the goal ..so cool and calm.
A point away at Arselona isn't bad even if we are disappointed not to take all three.
We are a work in progress and will have our ups and downs but we are looking better than last season for sure.

That’s 5 points lost from winning positions this season, both occasions when we were winning with around 20 minutes to go. Very annoying

I said before the game that we would get battered today, But if the work rate was 100% and we lost then I would be ok with it, BUT we played our hearts out and worked so hard, plus the referee was shocking towards us that it feels a little flat losing that goal so late on and only got a point

Great signs that City are getting back to something special again, when we get players back like Marmoush Chirky Nouri City will be fine and have players to change the game and not defend the game

In isolation, that would be a good result. In the wider context of the Brighton and Spurs losses rendering it must-win, it was shit. The subs were self-sabotage, we looked much more secure before them. Piss poor from Pep.

Onwards and upwards.

The moment the clown added seven minutes, I feared the worst. The combo of Atwell and Jarrett, the Aussie var clown, were the pair that ruled Henderson hadn’t handled in the Cup final. Utterly useless

I’d have taken that this morning. Obviously gutted we couldn’t hang on but I was delighted that we actually showed we can adapt and play a different way.

Everyone had a solid game and the goal, moving it from the middle of the park into an attack is EXACTLY how you get the best out of Haaland. I don’t rate Doku at all but he’s play 3 good games this week. Credit to him, let’s hope he continues.

We’re nowhere near the title this year but showing that we have some grit and we can mix it up is brilliant to see.

Our undoing for me was that when Foden and Haaland went off (and to a lesser extent Doku) we had no outlet. It was inevitable we’d concede. However, more than happy with that as it’s showed a lot of progress for me.

Well done blues.

If it wasn’t for him we would have conceded a few more.
Agreed that he was very good today, but in em goal he was in a feckin wrong position....so they equalised by our fault... By just one and only serious our fault.... Life goes on ....

We had the three best chances in the game. Erling's goal, his other chance where he could've passed to Foden for a tap-in and Doku from a tight angle which went across the goal. Don't think Donna Summer had a shot to save other than deflections from set pieces or lumps into the box.
Donna made a good near post save from a fierce shot, also beat away one that came at him through a crowd of players

Players were injured and knackered, and we needed to shift formations to blunt their attacking subs.

Which part are you struggling with?

Pep taking out Khusonov makes no sense to me. If he’s still there his pace take cares of every issue. Especially when Dias won 1/5 aerial duels.
Nunes sub makes no sense since we didn’t attack. He was great but you asked him to do everything Khusonov can do to a better degree.

Khusanov picked up an injury, didn't he?
