11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Apparently Klopp and Lijnders wanted him as the Mane replacement, so his improved performances might be due to Lijnders influence. saw a dipper fan tweet saying that Klopp/Lijnders really wanted him because he had all the attributes to be the Mane replacement.

Now Lijnders is here Doku's looks like a changed player. Decision making improved
 
Fair fucks to him I was never biggest fan but this season he’s been brilliant long may it continue and hopefully savinho learns from him
 
Having a great season so far. Finally being played to his strength. He was the best player on the pitch by some distance.
 
That's a couple games in a row now.

Last seasons Doku would look great one game and not so good the next.

But now, he has a free role, and he has looked good for 3 or 4 games in a row.

I think the penny has dropped with both him AND Pep (how he uses Doku now).

It’s his best week as a City player. I don’t like him on the wing, he’s not quick enough. But get him close to the box and he clearly makes things happen

We might not be winning the league material but we are looking good and looks like we are going to be good fun to watch

We just need a few better players on the bench and we’ll run away with it next season
 
Had his best 3 games in a city shirt and all 3 of them in a row. I've criticised him before this season and 3 swallows do not a summer make but if he continues in this form and I will gladly be proved wrong.

Nest 2 games are Burnley and Brentford - he’s got to deliver and build on his performances. He’s had a great week but City players don’t have ‘great weeks’ they do the business every week, every month and every year

No one spoke about Silva, KDB etc having a ‘good week’. The job is to do it on a consistent basis
 
At one point in the 2nd half Doku took on Arsenal's entire defence on his own. Rice decided to foul him to avoid possible embarrassment :)

In that form he's world class. Arsenal have the best defence in England or even Europe and struggled to stop him.

Blues on here need a bit of perspective, Doku won’t be turning in 7 or 8 grade performances every other week, it’s impossible, doesn’t mean he deserves to be slagged off, even Kev didn’t put in great performances week in week out, all this talk of consistency is just another stick to beat him with, it won’t happen.

If consistency can’t happen then we won’t win the league. Consistency *is* the job

He’s has a great week. Let’s build on it
