26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Hardly knee-jerk, he's had 3 sub appearances in the last 3 games and has barely mustered a sprint or any useful contribution with the ball
Given the brief appearances and his remit in those games, it feels like the appearances have been more “he’s fit and can run around for a bit,” more than “play on the wing and take on your man to your hearts content.”

He’s a young kid in a higher quality game than he’s ever encountered before. Tick tock, tick tock and he will develop into a more well-rounded player.

I really don't know why people are bombarding him here, he came on to play upfront for a team that wasn't trying to play anymore, there's little he could do.
He could have run, pressed, took it to the corner.

Instead he jogged about looking uninterested and trying to do back heels before cutting inside and stitching up Nico with a hospital pass that led directly to their goal.

Every cameo he’s had, he’s looked the same too. Should’ve snappped spurs hand off.

Has to close down Eze before their goal.

Rodri and Bernardo didn’t help, as the leaders of the team in midfield, they have to communicate that to Savinho but they were just jogging back not concentrating.

If a footballer needs telling by their teammates to close somebody down, that’s their issue - not their teammates.

Not going to hate on the kid, barely played and is still getting match fit.

I do think though Bobb should of been the one to come on instead though.

Communication is one of the biggest things in football. Players need telling things throughout every minute of every game. That’s why managers are always going mental on the touchline all the time and don’t sit up on the stands watching from a better viewpoint.

Indeed. And Joe Royle sussed him out and got him out thankfully.
I went to a night with Ian Cheese man, Paul Lake, Michael Brown and Paul Stewart and Michael Brown said the reason he left City was because he didn't get on with Joe Royle. I never ever thought that he wasn't trying when he was with us. He certainly always speaks highly of us.

My take too but my mind could be playing tricks on me. I like Brown when he was with us. Never thought he wasnt trying and there were plenty from that era who werent!

Agreed. But if he needs his hand holding through a game that much that he needs to be told when to close somebody down then that’s a massive issue.

restricted to cameos, but he's been absolutely crap so far this season lol. 60 mil and signing rodrygo sounds pretty good now.

Oh, but we were being gaslit by a lot of posters saying their fucking stats were similar, never mind we've seen with our own eyes Rodrygo put our defenders on toast and just generally be a wonderful footballer

One thing we know for sure, Pep would not have kept him if he wanted out so blame the higher ups

Nobody is denying there isn't a very good player in him, nobody is saying he hasn't got potential to become a world class player

People are concerned his attitude is very casual and since the tottenham stuff, seemingly disenchanted.

I cannot believe he spends training sessions showboating or doing tep overs and flicks, otherwise he wouldn't be in the matchday squad as Pep demands dscipline, so why does he revert to fucking about when on the pitch, especially as he is soft in a challenge

He frustrates more ethan anything, because he seems uncommited

Since he joined us I feel he's one of those players who thinks he's actually better than he is. He may have talent but he certainly needs to improve his attitude....

And what has rodrygo done? Did you watch him play this season? Rodrygo isn’t better + Rodrygo wants to play LW the position where Doku plays

Don’t care what anyone says we never turned down £70 million fior him and if we did we need our head shaking as is nowhere near that price and never will .
