That’s what we have done with Marmoush and Cherki, who were in the purplest of form when bought.

Kovacic (I presume that once back he will be beyond rusty)
Savinho (his spark may be gone and we need a real threat now)
Bernardo (too old gor a wing although OK if kept for CM exclusively)
Lewis (loan - never ever a RB imo)
Dias (if we can get as good but faster)
Stones (too injury prone unfortunately)

That’s an expensive way of dealing with things, even though it sounds perfectly logical. Today, I feel like you almost have to find the potentially greats, and pick them up before they’re in top form, as prices are becoming stupid.

I think you're probaly right with this. It'd be nice to get a RB in but I think Pep will trust in Khusanov to do the job out there against the better wingers in the champions league knock out rounds

I think outgoing we can only be looking at Ortega and Phillips.

That will leave us with a squad of 24 players which will be the smallest squad after Villa in the PL by the way.

Given that can we hope for at least a couple of additions?

It is a bit too soon, in my opinion. God knows what injuries will happen, and consequently force our hand.
