Arsenal thread | 2025/26

Never go full Partridge.

In this instance I think he is aware of the ridicule he’s had, and Arsenal have had previously for over celebrating draws etc.

So he’s trying a smarmy sarcastic response like Pep does sometimes with the media, but he’s failed miserably at imitating him (as per usual).

Either that or he’s a genuine lunatic, which he might be, the loser.

I think it’s more the latter. Wasn’t there a story when he was Pep’s assistant that someone went round to his apartment and there were loads of random pieces of paper stuck to the walls with tactics on them?

If so, that makes him the John Doe from Se7en type.

He has joked around with reporters before in interviews and this didn’t come across like that. I reckon he genuinely believes he’s done something special in snatching a last gasp draw at home.

He's feeling the pressure already, this early in the season. He probably wants people to think he's like some deep-thinking philosopher like Marx or Voltaire, followers hanging on every syllable he utters as if it's some genuine pearl of wisdom that even Socrates himself could not have conjured up, despite having a brain roughly the same size as Luke Shaw's arse.

I like it because he's making a noose for himself with all of these ridiculous statements: painting himself into a corner with every press release.
The world and his wife...and their neighbour Brenda, you know the one, married him with the facial tic, used to live up on the -what we used to call the Grange, that row of council bungalows overlooking the old gasworks). Anyway, back on topic, the world and his wife saw with their own eyes what he's done with the millions and millions he's spent, turned the team into an expensive Wimbledon - except Arsenal's football isn't as good as the Crazy Gang's was.

If he carries on like this he'll end up being carted off to the nearest mental asylum - where his room might be next to mine!

You missed one off.

Arteta knows that whilst the board will unlikely sack him because he is pretty much guaranteeing them CL football and some sort of title charge, I think he knows deep down he has this season to win something big or the majority of the fanbase will turn on him.

A lot of them already have, it seems.

What they did to Man City

Looking at the bigger picture you have done nothing to them despite the odd wins ..........has he tactics stopped you winning titles ????
Has it fooked and for all Citys new team and for its finding its feet i put money on over the next few seasons the cups etc will still fall in Citys favour.

The mans a bullshit merchant and the Arsenal fans are starting to see through it

Saliba just agreed a 5 year contract extension. For all our signings we've made, that's the best piece of business we've done all summer.

Eat shit Madrid!

Unsurprising if they are stretched thin, considering they barely sold against a 300mil spending + no income from winning things. And it's not the first window they have sold way less than they spent.
They were the most profitable PL club in history last season. Winning stuff sadly doesn't make that much difference to finances - I wish it did as it would concentrate our owner's mind more!
