Anyone picked up this virus/ flu thing that’s going around

No he's one of the vulnerable! Not been able to access his day services for nearly two weeks now so I'm working from home and he's driving me barmy instead :-)
Oh I see same here immune suppressed scarring on liver etc etc all city’s fault through the decades:) you spend half ur life fucking ur body up and the other half trying to put it right

Ive been rough all week, but think I'm on the mend.

Genuine question, is there a point in testing for Covid any more, isn't the guidance still to work unless you're not able?
I guess that’s down to you, do you have elderly family, friends? Seems like the right thing to do just for yours and your family’s health

I've been sneezing a lot for several days, today I was aching in my legs to the point I walked into town and back, and I felt fairly grim when I got back. Negative thankfully.

I do wonder how it has morphed though, as it has always been related to the common cold anyway (a covid varient), and how do they compare 5 years on ?

I do know people who have tested positive in the last few weeks, mostly not particularly ill though.

Just knowing what it is that’s wrong with you is the main reason, I suppose.

Read yesterday there is a new strain of Covid knocking about and there have been folks hospitalised as a result.

Last week. Rough for 3 days and still coughing like a 60 a day guy, horrible.

Loads round our way the same and it’s rumoured to be yet another new Covid strain although who tests these day?

Could still be hayfever, one of the worst things is fungal spores, ie mushrooms, and this mushroom season.

It's normally grass pollen for me (May-July ish) but yeah could be.

Been a long time since I took any hayfever tablets so I'm unprotected as such.

It just came on so quickly for me. The sore throat first on Saturday evening, but I thought that was my fault because I had been in the loft shifting some of the insulation (for about ten minutes) and forgot to put a mask on. Burning up on Sunday and again Tuesday. It’s the constant blocked nose that annoys the most though, at least it feels like it’s easing now and I’ve not had any headaches.

Evolutionary pressure for the virus is to become more contagious but less dangerous - no point killing your host etc.
That said, like the flu it will still be fatal/ serious for folk with other issues that make them vulnerable.

Was in the office yesterday and was like a doctors waiting room. Good to see the days of staying at home if you have a nose like a leaking tap, or explosive diarrhea, are long forgotten. And that was even before I started coughing... Worst thing about hot desking, Sharon from accounts leaving her used tissues in a drawer all crusty and green.

My daughter says the school bus is currently like a snot bubble on wheels. Thankfully they're on strike again next week which might coincide nicely with the incubation time, for some.

Yes. We were in London a couple of days ago. I’ve had a bastard sinus headache for two days now and my missus a nasty sore throat.

Dirty bloody Londoners giving us germs!
