Media discussion - 2025/26

Jamie Redknapps classic "Man Citys huge squad" comment this evening did make me chuckle.
I heard that too.
He really is a clueless fuckwit.
Beggars belief how someone as thick can get a gig, and that a broadcaster would be stupid enough to pay clowns like him to spout nonsense.

BBC United - Mediacity has become nothing more than a (TV licence fee paid) tabloid, who are only interested in the 3 Red Shirt Cartel clubs, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

I get the impression that the post match write up was done through gritted teeth - basically a lucky / narrow win due to a couple of own goals and late goals.

The way that bloke tells it their centre half ran the full length of the pitch , shimmied around their keeper and walked it over the line into his own net . Twice .

I was working yesterday so I watched Sky Sports in my boss's car to keep up with the games. It's been ages since I watched Sky Sports news during games and I literally burst out laughing at times at how blatantly partisan they were. The excitement when Burnley equalised was in stark contrast to the complete disinterest and rejection when City scored. You could feel the joy sucked out of the entire studio. It got to the point where everytime we scored they were looking for things in other games to go to first. The completely over the top reporting from Selhurst Park; the blistering football, the world class moves, the orgasmic joy everytime Liverpool attacked, was so obvious it was like a comedy sketch.
Sometimes I think we are overly paranoid about how we are perceived and reported on, but things like yesterday's coverage is so obvious and insulting its unavoidable.

Hilarious, they have absolutely refused to mention City as a potential challenger to Luverpool, Arsenal are, City? Nothing at all. I wonder when the penny will drop.
It's moves from ignore through cheating to making football boring.

Funny how exciting it's been in most of our title run-ins and even in second halfs of some final games.

Suppose it's not much fun on the downside of those exciting wins but cookies crumble.

I fucking love Martin Samuel. Talks so much sense. Loved his spiel on United being the worst run club in the world that have every advantage over every club and how it’s bat shit crazy that they have managed to balls it up so much and hilarious to think they didn’t even make it in to any European competition this year. Said it’s as big a failure as Bayern not making Europe. “They get everything”

Bang on. Top bloke.

Martin Samuel is brilliant only reason I bought the Daily Mail for years despite hating the Tories. He is not pro City but fair telling it like it is which is a vast improvement on any other football writer.
