Newcastle did this and the fans kicked off and they backed down

Why does no one at the club care about our own fans ?

No £35 membership needed here. A coach load of Dundee/ Dundee Utd / Rangers / Celtic / Liverpool/ Man U fans in our seats for a must win game and where the atmosphere needs to be partisan and at a time when more restrictions are being forced onto existing fans.

This also affects availability of tickets for proper City fans.

A load of Liverpool fans In our end for City v Liverpool. Great

How do you know they're Liverpool fans ?

How do you know they're Liverpool fans ?

Could have been one of maybe 4 things.

Jumped up and down when the scouse scored.

Spat a lot when they talked.

Smelled like a burning skip.

Loads of wallets went missing after the final whistle.

Just a hunch :)

we regularly have coaches from scotland coming to watch City, some are mixed support from multiple clubs or some are just the one team ie Rangers fans coming down to watch us.

I know its not a new thing with schools up there, a few Rangers/Chelsea friends of mine have mentioned it a few times that its happening more with glasgow based schools.

You will be right, not all on the coach will be city fans, its annoying that I struggle to get tickets for my kids on games like this but others can do it via a tour operator and get in.

Club dont care about us, they just want bums on seats

I think this would be a great thing to offer to schools in the Greater Manchester area, in an effort to secure the future generation of fans, particularly where parents possibly can't afford to take their kids given the cost of both memberships and match tickets.

Coach tours from Dundee though?

I'd imagine the Liverpool game would easily sell itself out twice over so it seems a strange choice of game. Why not do such trips for less attractive games, especially midweek ones?

At the Liverpool Home in Nov 2023 at Turnstile C I had 8 Americans in front of me all with their tickets on one phone - politely enquired where they were from and they were tourists from New Jersey. How on earth do they get 8 seats together for that match?

Have said it before and will say it again, the club do not give one iota of a shit for the match going fanbase, particularly us locals; we are an inconvenience as our footprint doesnt create enough revenue for them. They want a different set of tourists for each game who will buy a programme, go on a tour, visit the souvenir shop and possibly stay over at the new Hotel. "Legacy fans" as we were termed during that Super League nonsense when they came cryarsing to us about how they always value us - they dont.

The idiots in charge don't really want repeat business they want unique footfall that'll do the club shop with all the trimmings and hospitality.

It's like a get rich quick scheme gone mad.

Why do they get the biggest games if they want to come offer them tickets Vs the bottom 5 teams is this the same school who wanted Newcastle Vs Barcelona tickets if it is Newcastle listen to fans when they got caught out and cancelled them wonder if we will do the same

MCFC need to instruct these groups who apply for a sizeable amount of tickets about the policy now to keep visiting fans out

All clubs do this ...... when I was at school we went to both Anfield and Old Trafford to watch football matches on trips that the schools had organised ..... and it's still going on at many schools, youth clubs and organisations.

It’s ridiculous. Why aren’t kids from schools in greater Manchester being offered these tickets?

We have some of the most deprived areas in the country, full of young city fans who would love to go to this game .

The game last year was full of people who aren’t city fans - openly celebrating Liverpool scoring. It’s not on

Oh I remember at school being offered regular tickets to local teams to watch them.

Been to watch England under 17s etc play at Stockport County in the past when in school.

It works and it should, be nicer if its focus was on local kids more than out of towners

There have been coaches from Scotland coming down for years. The club are clearly trying toi encourage support there.
Let them come for a lesser game that won’t sell out.

You can’t manufacture support. If they were all begging to come that’s one thing.

If they are invited to come because the club thinks they are from privileged backgrounds and will spend more in the shop that’s another.

My local grass root club in Lancashire has had an enquiry for friendly games for teams from Dundee on the Morning of the 19th October from one of these "tour operators" just coincides with Everton game in the afternoon.
