Dundee school obtain tickets for Liverpool game

£48 was for seats next to the dugout. The cheapest through City were £30.

I dont think its that we dont have 50k wanting to go, its a that people plan ahead and want to have the tickets booked early. The new transfer process doesn't help either.

I also find its a lot easier selling tickets on the Facebook face value sites as you can vet the sellers better.

Ok I understand that but on this occasion I offered 3 tickets sat together at £40 each so still £8 cheaper per ticket and only £2 more expensive than Corky mentioned if a season ticket holder bought them. And getting 3 together I would hazard a guess would have been even more difficult to find. Nobody even said look mate i'll give you £20/30 each. Just nothing not one response. And it's happened plenty of times over our successful period. I just don't believe we have 50,000 fans desperatley seeking City.
You're only addressing a very small subset of fans posting them on here though, I'm not sure that means much in the grand scheme of things. Maybe as mentioned above FB would get you more luck, although £120+ for a random game is perhaps too much for many locals.

You're probably right but I'm not on FB. Id have taken less but nobody even asked. Anyway its more about I just don't think we have 50,000 match going daft fans every week. It's not a criticism I think its the reality for a whole host of reasons but even then I don't think we've got them. 65,000 when the likes of Fulham come to town is going to be a big ask. Maybe we are just looking at the bigger games to fill for now and over time it will evolve?

someone i work with was best mates with the guy who ran one of these companies (not sure if it was this one but probably as he specialises in trips from Scotland). i know his deal was he bought 40-50 tickets for every game and if he couldn’t sell them tough - he paid for them. Still made a fortune though. Not saying it’s right - just that was how it worked

It is a school group booking from City, not some travel/event company.

We've had over a decade of unrivalled success on the pitch and our support still hasn't evolved in a 53,000-capacity stadium, never mind a 62,000-capacity stadium.

What have the directors been doing so we still can't fill the Etihad for every game during that period of time?

They have alienated our local fan base and replaced them with football tourists, day trippers, glory hunters, who are now leaving, and school parties from other parts of the country, just because they will pay more for match tickets, pay more for hospitality, and spend more in the souvenir shop.

I agree and the most obvious thing would be cheaper tickets and making the whole 'match day experience' more easy to navigate. That apart Im not sure since the move from Maine Road we ever had a constant 50,000 supporters though and this is the reason the club are going down the route they are to try and fill a 62,000 capacity stadium. We had a loyal hardcore 35,000 at MR, the economy is squeezing everyone tighter, the infrastructure around the ground gets increasingly more difficult, sick of the road works, the parking is shocking, our support has obviously aged considerably and gone are the days when the younger lads n' lasses could rock up and pay at the turnstile and have great day out together and create a social weekend. The whole thing has to be planned meticulously weeks ahead and if I was in my late teens id fuck it all off and find something more cheaper and enjoyable to do. To be fair to City not all.of those issues are solely down to them.

All of that is true.

I totally agree with you.

You can add ticket, and season ticket prices have increased every season for over a decade.

Match-day ticket prices were reduced this season because of the fan protests last season. Soriano, Danny Wilson, and the other directors didn't make that decision; Sheik Mansour and Khaldoon forced that decision upon them and took it out of their hands.

The directors have also clamped down on season ticket use, making it harder to share season tickets. They have also targeted fan websites where tickets are on sale at face value between fans.

In essence, the Directors are doing everything they can to make it harder for the fans to share tickets and to buy cheaper, face-value tickets.

We know you are close to Kevin (Parker) but he is your OSC rep on Citymatters, surely all branches feed into the club / Citymatters via this channel ? You can always ask for club to help real fans more and have questions put on the record at meetings so they have to answer.
I hardly know him mate.

Yes thanks that’s helpful re. City Matters. There is Kevin and I should also be represented by the season card rep like many thousands of Blues.

One point we have to remember is that the club has painted itself into a corner with silly prices. The club needs official touts to shift tickets for unpopular games which real fans can't (or won't) shell out for. They might get stuck with tickets for such games so will demand access to popular games.
The only solution is to reduce prices to get more fans buying direct from the club with ultimate aim of ditching official touts.

Bournemouth Sunday November 2nd. Sold out. We all know this is bollox.
You can't buy a ticket as a member on the club website.
The club is still flogging hospitality, eg kits bar, £250, no food. 1 drink, for fcking Bournemouth.
The club need to make it look "sold out", as a "hard to get" ticket, so people might pay for hospitality instead.
Every game is the same, they don't care about hundreds of empties, because many who might have taken up those, are instead forced into hospitality.
When you're at the Bournemouth game, and you see clusters of empties, remember that you can't buy a normal ticket today for that game, let alone 2 together.
Agents take guaranteed bunches of seats, as someone mentioned above, they shift them at huge money for the the big games, but happy enough to leave them empty for the smaller games. We care about a full ground and a passionate atmosphere, that is not the priority for the club.
