Dundee school obtain tickets for Liverpool game

You’re talking about 20 years ago. Right now the demand is there. On this specific story, are you ok with coach loads of kids from a private school in Scotland getting tickets over say kids from schools in greater Manchester? Or just city fans in general.

Arguably our biggest game of the season as well. Why not offer tickets for lesser games or cup games?

We could easily fill the expanded stadium with affordable pricing and giving schools in greater Manchester tickets couldn’t we?
Tickets are often given away to local school, often to untd fans or and they don't always get filled/used.

This is going to be one or two coaches a match for paid school trips, and has been going on for decades for every game. City fans thinking they can go via one team but not another, is a bit glory hunting itself.

Why don’t we sell tickets to home games based on loyalty points as we do with away games? Is that not one of the key purposes of the points system.

Danny Wilson should be sacked

Club won't swap out my 7 year old daughters shirt that they have printed the incorrect name on for one of the women's players, but they'll dish out free tickets to kids on Scotland. Got it

You’re right about local schools. My two kids went to Romiley Primary School, as far as I’m aware not once did City come to the school. The rags came regularly, doing coaching sessions and giving tickets away for games.
The rags have a partnership with Werneth School, also in Romiley, and are very active with coaching sessions, tickets etc.

It's such a simple and basic thing to do in order to attract kids and get their brand in the face of impressionable youngsters.

City may well do similar things with other schools for all I know, but on the surface it looks like City don't really care for local support and, as others have already said, just want bums on seats who are willing to spend money.

These trips are available for any school to apply for, including Manchester ones. Details are on the City website: Manchester City Group Bookings https://share.google/pymcB3u79fHu5BNWK
City should have a team proactively working with local schools and offering them these trips, not just having a link online and hoping schools manage to stumble across it.

Engagement with the local community seems to be lacking and given the population of the surrounding areas, there are a lot of kids we could get hooked from an early age.

Two separate issues and I've always found customer service around the merchandise side to be awful.

But there's no point getting angry about kids in Scotland getting free tickets. It's pretty clear the tickets were bought and paid for.

I'm not angry mate.

The issue is availability

Same as Liverpool away last season with loads of Barcelona fans stopping proper Blues getting tickets

A lot of complaining on here, have any of you emailed the club?

Agree it's wrong and local schools should have the option, they're our future support, get them into the habit of going to a live game

Same with pub's, they don't want the regular punters who have a couple of pints everyday and 10 on a Saturday, they want mum and dad 2.4 kids starter, mains and afters with £4 pints of coke spending in an hour and a half what frank spends in a fortnight
