Huddersfield Town (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Spent all summer flirting with another club, he can fuck right off as far as I’m concerned. Don’t care if he scored a good goal against a third flight side
When he starts producing at our real level then he can talk. He was fucking dogshit at the weekend, lazy and cowardly
I’m done with him

Savio with his shhhhh celebrations . Do fuck off. I don't like or rate him after summers shenanigans with Spurs.
Onto the performance-Happy with not really having to get out of 1st gear.

Guy is not even a good player. Way to lightweight for City.

And posting pictures from his home gym about half an hour after Pep told a presser he was injured
Snide little bastard was angling for that move
He’ll probably do a Yaya and blame it on his agent. Even though agents do nothing publicly without the player’s full agreement
Can’t wait to see the back of the snide rat, just hope we maximise the fee

I agree wholeheartdly with that, did not think he was all that last night either. Complete wastrel to be added to the Creany,Badbuy,Brannan, list.

i'm guessing you lot wont want a piece of his birthday cake then.....

Nonsense. Tyson is an internationally known icon of boxing who has notion to do with us locally.

Savinho plays for City, who we all (most) support. For someone to mouth off on here about him being this and that, it would be interesting to see if they would do that to his face and explain why they have that view. My belief is they wouldn’t dare.
Steady, Tiger - it was a joke!

But since I'm posting, I'm not sure that whether anybody would feel physically intimidated by a player in person is even relevant, is it? Bloody strange forum, if so.

Bobb and Savinho are both young lads who have shown signs of quality and both are coming back from injury, in Bobbs case a serious one. I didn't think either impressed last night although Bobb looked better in spite of Savinho's goal. As with all young players it's impossible to say if they'll make it or not.

I can't see City going far in this competition because our squad is not strong enough. City will prioritise the PL and CL and play a relatively young side in the competition whereas Arsenal etc will play much stronger sides.

I didn’t mean like that, what I meant is all the mouthing off about him being a rat, shit and this, that and the other. I’ve a feeling it wouldn’t be said in person, given the chance.

had to laugh at phillips, came on for ten minutes, fell over twice then at the end was walking round shirtless hugging people as if he'd put a real shift in
A start for him after a stinking 2 years must've felt brilliant.

He deserves a break and I for many hope he can pick up his career even it will be elsewhere !!

They’ve all got huge improvement to make compared to previous wide forwards. Even with Doku’s recent surge in form, he’s miles away from being at Sané and Sterling levels at a similar age.

When Sterling was 23, he scored 25 goals and got 16 assists in 4,097 minutes (g/a every 99 minutes).
When Sané was 22, he scored 16 goals and got 18 assists in 2,946 minutes (g/a every 79 minutes).
…and they both happened in the same season, plus Mahrez (much older at 28 though) got 12 goals and 12 assists in that season n’all making it 99 goals and assists between the three of them that season.

But the current lads are still young and have got years ahead of them to improve. Doku is the older of the three (Doku 23, Bobb 22, Savinho 21) and has made a step up in recent games (although still needs to be more clinical in the box with that chance in the second half at Arsenal, could have put the game to bed… but Sterling did miss his fair share of sitters n’all).

Hopefully there’s a good step up with all of them when they get in the swing of it this season… Savinho and Bobb haven’t really got going yet after injuries.
Starling was deadlyish from 2 yards.....sometimes !!

Where is it possible to watch the match in relive?

It was a thoroughly boring match. I can't believe in a cup tie their manager was happy to sit back and defend for 90 minutes without having a go. Even if he wanted to try for a 0-0, a valid tactic to some extent, as soon as we scored his plan was over. He should've had a go! What's the point in not seeing if some pace/physicality/long balls can't cause a few problems? It's literally what we struggle with!!

Foden was completely different class to every other player on the pitch and it's great to see him getting back to his best. He's like a new £150m signing at the minute.

Over summer, I would've been one who'd have accepted a £55-60m bid off Spurs (if they actually offered that) for Savinho. I think his head has been turned and it's not by a move to Bayern/Real/Barcelona etc which I could at least understand. He wanted a big step down. The more I see of him, the less I like. He could still be running about now and still not have landed a cross on target, he just seems like one of these headless chickens that Palace/Watford/etc sign to be honest.

Looking at the draw, there could be some big teams pushed out in the next round and I fancy us to go at this 100% this year. Pep will want an early trophy and I'll be surprised if we don't make the final.
