14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

Forgive me for the niche-ness but Rodri had a similar performance away at Burnley in his first season which showed early signs of the consistency we take for granted now.

It’s promising from Nico.

There was a big difference to Rodri’s first season though. He was surrounded by quality.

He played ok last night but it was Huddersfield. I’m not sure Pep is that impressed.

Time will tell on this one.

At this moment in time nothing to peak much excitement .
Of course not. Every time we sign someone that is not a player the crowd was clamoring for the "experts" on here refuse to ever say anything good about that player. Everyone played against the same opponent last night so ya have to judge his performance as it compares to all his teammates. Easily the second best player on the pitch for us.

Really? He piques my interest. I’m trying to figure out if there’s a player in there that could be worth the price we paid.

Some players find it easier to slot into Pep’s system than others, and when they do…

However, some never get there.

Just commenting on his time with us so far, hope the lad comes good.

Good player, just unfortunate his direct competition is Rodri, who is on a different level than most players.

Pep seems to fancy Reijnders in midfield alot considering the minutes he has already played, and Foden claiming a spot in the middle, there's just not much room for Nico in the first team at the moment.

Looking better the more he plays. He’s clearly trying to implement peps instruction. Still finding his feet but It’ll come.

Thought he was ok firdt half but was left to cover too mcuh but looked better secodn half when reijnders was told to play deeper.

Just don't get him. His passing is too safe and when he turns looks like he is in a bucket of cement. Now Kovacic is fit don't think we'll see much of him.

Reads the game well and keeps things ticking over, but I think he's a little too passive in how he plays.

I'd like to see him be a little more aggressive on the ball.

By no means anything to shout about but played well enough in a game you'd expect him to play well in. would be beneficial for him to keep his place against monaco and try and establish a rhythm.

Can't think of better praise than a few blue mooners saying they can't see the quality of a new defensive mid after a tidy but unspectacular game.
