26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Not sure why he is getting a contract extension after only 1 season and then wanting out at the end of it.

All for him wanting to fight it out with the other lads and play well for the team, just not convinced "rewarding" him with an extension was wise by the club.

I get the feeling it was a sweetner by the club to help him buckle up and get back fighting for the team and not be a potential mischief maker after wanting out at the back end of the summer.

So his agent has asked for more money and the club have caved in. Bizarre

Must be on a low salary now and spurs offered him the world, that’ll have been his reason for considering them.

Brazilians are known to follow the money unless they’re a world beater, which he isn’t.

Wouldn’t give him fuck all apart from a cab ride to spurs . We are gonna waste a lot of time in this kid and in the end he will never be anywhere near the level we need .

Protects the club from losing him on the cheap. We'll stand to potentially make more money from selling him than we'll lose in paying him more money each week.

I don't know why people are judging him so harshly. We've seen Doku go from very inconsistent to producing top class performances in the past few games. Football can change that quickly. For me, Savinho's issues are the physical battle and the composure in the final third. Both are much easier to resolve than if he didn't have the ability to beat the defender, or wasn't technically a very good footballer.

As Pep said earlier, just need to give him time.

Doku has been good for about three games.

Savinho has played about 150 minutes of football this season, if you’re judging him off that then you’ve clearly got no patience with young players with plenty of potential.
And last season where every time he took a shot it was like he was caressing the ball to the goalkeeper. Some of us just don’t see it, coupled with his propensity to shit out of a tackle or duel, lose the ball easily and give it away in stupid moments.

Personally, I believe, if this is our bar for young talent then we’re going to have to accept we won’t return as a dominant force in the future.

I don’t see it with him to be honest. He doesn’t have lightning pace or acceleration, and not really tricky, certainly not strong or tough in the tackle and his worst feature is terrible finishing.

Maybe as people more patient than me are saying, he’ll come good in time. Question is can we afford to carry a 4 goals in 50 games attacker waiting for him to become as good as Eze, Saka, Palmer?

Or is that not the expectation? In which case what’s our ambition? We used to have prime-Sterling, Sané, Mahrez - has Savinho shown any signs of reaching that level in a few years? How long can we wait and miss chances while he develops? I much prefer the finished product, a quick, goalscoring winger that gets you out of your seat.

He has 4 years left on his current deal - why would we lose him on the cheap?

What would be the harm in saying - 'Give us 25/30 G/A in all competitions this season and we'll give you an improved contract'. If he does, great, if he doesnt, he still would have 3 years left and we'd be able to get a decent fee.

Quite funny that all that’s being said isn’t said about Lewis who is far worse while being half a year younger. How weird.

In short, people are clueless but refuses to anknowledge it
Nothing against the lad but I just don’t think he’s gonna be good enough for a too tier side who gave players like Rodri Haaland Gigi gvadiol abd probably foden who are elite players unlike this guy who look let’s be honest us only still here because we didn’t sanction the move . Maybe I’m wrong but I feel in 2 years time he will not even be mentioned by us .

Yes and there was £70 mill on the table so why do you think our coaches and sporting director didn’t sanction a move, why do you think Spurs and Frank did sanction spending that in him. Is there not a slight possibility that those highly paid professionals that see him every day see a bit more potential in a 21 year old than you obviously do.
He may not improve or kick on, but I’m self aware enough to not be as sure either way as you think you are.

I think with Lewis we know he at least tries and puts a shift in. Also he is not playing in his natural position. With Savinho none of this seems to apply

Savinho literally had the best creation stats in our team last season especially when he played the same position he played for Girona ( LW) so it’s weird to say that nothing applies with savinho. Lewis is nowhere near our standard and there‘s no talk.

Doku was called shit here 2 weeks ago despite being our only creator game after game so I won’t take any of this seriously anyway.
The recency bias in this forum is hilarious

We have so many young players now, Pep is going to be flat out with them. Savinho needs to kick on now and Pep thinks he will do it.
I think Pep will persevere with all these youngsters like the Heskeys, Nypan, Echeverri , Mfuni, Mukasa , Reiss , Bah etc. and incorporate the best of them in to the squad.
Savinho needs to make sure that he is at his top performance and make sure that these don't overtake him.
Its a great place for us to be with all these developing players
