Great news, and well deserved. Feels like he’s really stepped up a level this season. Should keep his place on merit at the moment, even when Ait-Nouri is fit again. Barely put a foot wrong.

Nico and RAN aren’t 100% competing for the same spot anyway, Nico is a midfielder and he will probably not earn Peps full trust in the middle for a while (if Foden is the template) but I expect they’ll play together plenty as well over the next few years as Nico gets better and more comfortable and moves into midfield.
