There was a previous thread on Kneecap that got deleted...priobably got a bit tetchy...hopefully this wont

But yer man just had his terror charges thrown out....LOL...love how the press are grasping on the "technical error" aspect.....was a load of shite

The terrorism case against Kneecap rapper Liam Og O hAnnaidh has been thrown out by a chief magistrate following a technical error in the way the charge against him was brought.

The rap trio member was due to find out today whether his terrorism charge will be thrown out.

Liam Og O hAnnaidh, who performs under the stage name Mo Chara, was accused of displaying a flag in support of the proscribed terror organisation Hezbollah at a gig at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London, in November last year.

The 27-year-old’s defence team had argued that the case should be thrown out, citing a technical error in the way the charge against him was brought.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring had been set to rule on whether or not he has jurisdiction to try the case in the Westminster Magistrates’ Court hearing, sitting at Woolwich Crown Court, on Friday.

At Friday's hearing, Mr Goldspring agreed with O hAnnaidh’s lawyers, who argued that the Attorney General had not given permission for the case to be brought against the defendant when police informed him he was to face a terror charge on May 21.

In his judgment, Mr Goldspring said: “These proceedings were instituted unlawfully and are null.”

O hAnnaidh, of Belfast, had yet to enter a plea to the charge and is on unconditional bail.

Still a **** though ;-)

A Kneecap track, Get Your Brits Out, was used as incidental music during last night’s first episode of Guinness on Netflix.

Very embarrassing for the police and the government.
If you want to persecute people, at least do it right.

shouldn't have been charged in the first place. Also how could a very serious terrorism charge be held within a magistrates court. Shows you what a joke of charge it was in the first place. What a waste of time and money

Don't all cases initially go through a magistrates court as a form of legal triage?

Dog shit band only famous for pulling stunts like this.

Time to leave them alone and let them dissappear into future quiz question obscurity.
But if the government hadn't been so weak, allegedly pandering to Trump and israel then they would not have got the publicity.
Any law but especially one as important as a terrorist law, should be considered and well thought out.
It's left the police, CPS and government looking stupid, heavy handed and US Israeli puppets.

Great speech from him aswell, aired in full on BBC 6music.

No I shouldn't because after a recheck it's right, in fact all terrorist cases go through a magistrates court first it's nothing unusual.

Have you got any evidence to the contrary?
You are right.
All cases start at the magistrates. Those that can only be tried by the Crown Court are then 'committed' to those courts.

This farce didn't even get past the first hearing at Magistrates Court and is a severe embarrassment to the police, CPS and the government.

All 3 have acted like the Trump puppets we see over in America. So desperate to avoid criticism from the Daily Telegraph and others they have made a complete mockery of our so called impartial justice system

Facts in this case hurt feelings mate ;-)
