As I have stated repeatedly, since Gollum was in charge, people have been saying that. TT, Moyes and PEG were proven managers with a great track record.

The Norwegian troll, ten Bob and AMoron were supposedly young, talented managers

And none of them was able to reinvigorate the rags. What makes you think anyone else will do so?

I don't think even Pep could turn them around. We have owners who employ scouts & statisticians to do they job & are in a position to say no if they don't fit or panic if they turn us down, where as they have owners who are only interested in making money, keeping the match day income rolling in.

They do that buy signing decent players for world class wages & transfer fees which gets the giddy hordes thinking they're back & then the season starts, with reality kicking in.

I'm 72 mate, I was there and saw it, in 74, when they went down. After we had won the League, the FA Cup, League Cup and ECWC. Even then the coverage they got from the papers, as they were then, was sick inducing. Let's not wish for too much . A constantly struggling bunch of wankers is more fun in my opinion anyway.
Best 55p I ever spent

The rags think that if they buy players for overinflated sums that this would reflect how good that player was in real life, it's a strange way to look at football.

It doesn't matter to them because they make profits if they take a piss or have a shit, all down to a global know nowt fanbase who'd clamber over a dead relative for a fake rag shirt.
The rags are now in the scenario of not being able to overpay for the best players because those players want to be winning the Ucl & Premier league.

The irony being that the money making Premier league that they were instrumental in setting up has made the small clubs so much richer that they no longer have to kowtow when the rags come calling

Would Mbueno have left Brentford if the rags weren't trebling or quadrupling his wages

I just love they're fact they're simply a shite bottom half team

It's not bad luck, it's not a rough patch, nothing like that. That can happen to anyone.

It's about time the discussions about them underperformimg are over with. They're not under performing, well in terms of money spent maybe, but they are what they are....a run of the mill bottom half team and they're performing that way.
