Did anyone else read that post in a Rowan Atkinson voice ?
Especially Pomphrey.

Just me then.

I have it regularly and when the missus asks why I can remember that but can't remember that I'll usually reply with "I only remember the important stuff".

I can remember telephone numbers and reg plate numbers from 40 years ago, bank account numbers and sort codes, passport number and expiry date, NI number and other such trivial nonsense but I can't recall my wife's mobile phone number.

Nobody knows their wife's phone number.

I have memory lapses. Yesterday, for some reason, I thought it was February 28th and today would be the 1st of March. Just for a few seconds, and then it comes back to me.

Memory blanks are just part of growing old.

Like many on here have said, pointless recollections from our youth are easily recalled, but why have I walked into the kitchen is an increasing feature of life.

And when you do remember why, you look in a cupboard for the frozen peas!

I did jury service back in the 80s. I remember the defendant was Roman Hasarab and he lived at 200 Heywood Street, Cheetham Hill. It's fascinating that I have remembered that from more than 40 years ago, but I can't even remember what I posted on here five hours ago.
The thing is, I know what you did there and can remember, without checking, that you originally said the defendant lived at number 100 not 200.

So either this is a test, or you’re starting to get the facts wrong after all this time.

I can remember vividly things from my past and what I am supposed to be doing each day. But ask me what year things happened and I haven’t got a clue, unless they are somehow aligned with City.

My father said to me recently that he thought he was losing his memory because he couldn’t remember most of his classmates from primary school. Funnily though, he could remember more of his than I could of mine (I reckon I could name maybe 10 out of the 42 in my class - yes, 42) even with the thirty year difference between us.

I have always had a selective memory, I knew that at an early stage, and it’s because I am always taking in new information, my brain just discards stuff it thinks is irrelevant, like most of eighties football, it’s like it never happened, thankfully.

I suppose a test to see if anyone noticed, so well done for spotting it. The name altered slightly also, but I still recall the actual name because it is rather unusual, and the actual house number. I drove there once out of interest and it was very intimidating in the dark evening. I was happy to leave the place.

I heard seven cases in all, on two different two week callings to Manchester Crown Court. I don't remember any of the finer details of the other cases.

My mum and dad visited relatives in Houston in 1979. I was just 18 so on my own in the house for an extended period for the 1st time. I had my relative's Houston number in case of emergency. I still know that number without hesitation 46 years later.

I'm not a FOC like most of you lot, but still have the same problems. I tend to remember random things I don't need to but anything the mrs asks and it's in one ear and out the other.
