The Blue Buus... is callin us... Driver, where you
Man... I don't think a video has changed my mind before, but I have to say (even as I type in disbelief at what I'm writing), I think I've been giving Foden a hard time. Maybe cos I what to see more visceral impact now that De Bruyne's gone? I don't know.

But it's took a Yank/ Canadian to reframe my perspective.

Not quite sure if this is a 'player performance' more than a profile, so wherever it's supposed to go...

Just highlights how shit the British press/media are.

Dearly me an absolute load of nonsense, set up for an American audience. Just the same daft comparison but backing Foden.

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say he’s only a system player or he is not strong enough to deride Foden. Similarly saying Palmer is just a penalty taker, and packaged highlights is a nonsense also.

Daft comparisons and points for clicks, but on the plus side I did discover football is not like track and field.

Funnily enough I ignored Palmer. All City fans know the footy press view him as 'The Golden Boy' now he's left City and we, as fans, know what Palmer can do. Not arsed about Chelsea irrelevant fanboy thoughts.

I was, more, wondering why I've been omitting Foden's impact on the pitch. He's no David Silva, sure. He's no Kevin De Bruyne, for dang sure.

However, he makes more impact in the game in the RIGHT position more than I, personally, gave him credit for and the Yank perspective reframed me. That's all I'm saying.

I don’t think City fans have ever disrespected Phil but sometimes we don’t stop & just appreciate how superb this lad is. We get buried in the fight for success & take for granted the way we achieve it which does result in some players being blindly criticised

It’s made me remember & appreciate what a superstar we have.

Fair enough mate, I genuinely thought you were being sarcastic but if it’s made you rethink that’s brilliant and a strength in your personality.

Yeah, that's totally fair.

Just being honest. I've critiqued what he's poor at before, but not really celebrated what he's good at.

Thought it was about time to rebalance that after I saw the video.

And it's a good point to make.it has gone under the radar for a lot of Blues and wider footy fans ,because ,for whatever reason his ability is not always highlighted to the full.
We've been bedazzled by other City midfield greats and then a media somewhat reluctant to focus on the outrageous footballing ability of The Stockport Iniesta.
From day one, his debut in the states,as a 16 yr old, playing in front of 80k fans in a pre season friendly v utd....I could see this teenager demanding the ball off the great Yaya Toure.
I thought back then ,that's a player who truly believes in his ability to effect any game at any time
Confident enough that he can receive a ball in tight areas ,with either foot ( most players, inc David Silva, cannot do this )because he instinctively knows,he can twist and turn,on a spin in either direction....I've said this before .but when we have the other , genuinely two footed midfield player back from injury .....we are in for a treat.
