Cast - All Change

Sorry, another Britpop pick.

This time Cast - I was surprised at the recent Oasis gigs how many had never heard of them before -I've gone with their 1995 debut 'All Change' - It's got so many bouncy indie pop numbers, especially the singles 'Alright', 'Sandstorm' and 'Finetime' , the stand out slow one 'Walkaway' you will likely recognize.
Front man John Power was the bassist and backing vocalist for The La's before forming this band.
Watching them again at Wembley recently bought back a lot of 90's nostalgia and they sounded great.
Feel free to knock a point off for being a bunch of scousers. Enjoy!

It's the 90s, it's Britpop, it's another ...... hang on a minute, this is one of those rare UK indie albums that I bought when it was released and enjoyed at the time. It will be fun to revisit this one.

"I've got a sandstorm blowin' in my head ..............."

Color me "shocked". ;-)

Hmm, I've never heard (of) them after sampling a few tracks, so this will be an interesting contrast in listening experiences. They and this release didn't chart in the US, and I don't think I've heard them otherwise.

"I've got a sandstorm blowin' in my head ..............."
Nice song.

Always thought Cast were just a level below all the Britpop big guns but I did have this and went to see them live. Will be good to listen to it again
They were definitely in the 2nd tier of bands from that scene.

Power got bored of waiting for Lee Mavers to do another album with The La's which he still hasn't so did his own thing.

Mavers on the other hand has by all accounts lived off There She Goes being played regularly on US college radio and someone who I cannot remember doing a very bad but popular cover version of that song.

Saw Cast a few times and have this album and the one after and to square the circle Noel G was a big La's fan hence I think asking Cast to support

Thanks for the listens for the Slow Motion Cowboys.
Got the reviews I expected,a mixed bunch.
Picked them because not only do I like the album
But it would be a new group to a lot of you.

I think amongst the mixed bunch, the ones that didn't like it had a predisposed dislike of the genre. Little could have been helped there tbf.

1. The La’s (John Power - Cast)
2. London Exchange (Album front cover)
3. Southgate (Walkaway song used for Euro 96)

I have no recollection of the use for the last one, I assume it was put over the sad highlights/closing credits after we went out?

Only know the obvious singles from this so will be sort of new to me.
