Therfore the pen was always gonna get given.

Well it is not a clear and obvious error as it is down to interpretation. The idea to go for the ball that high with your foot is truly foolish to say the least.

No balls about him, he's fast, get your body across the player and let him foul you if anything. Doku needs to teach him something or sell him.

No control at all, looking flaky as shit at the back. Not creating enough chances from promising positions (Bernardo so ineffective) all backed up by a dreadful referee who was giving them everything.
Probably not a bad point considering how we played and what we were up against.

Not true. We were very poor for the first 15 mins of the 2nd half. Our play actually improved after the subs.

Thought we passed it with purpose in the first half. Less so in the 2nd half. We still have moments where we break and then come backwards. Pep teams of old would finish teams off. The past 2 years we try to manage games. It's frustrating. That being said we hit the bar twice and on a different day with a different ref we probably win that.

Foden looks really good. Reindeers good. Donna good saves.

The main thing is we're so much better without haaland. I've read it all summer. Those guys saying that know their stuff.

We shouldn't have been in the position where the penalty cost us the points. We should've been 3 or 4-1 up at that point. Other than Haaland though, who else is bagging the goals? I know Reijnders hit the post twice(?) but the whole team needs to be getting them.

It was a penalty. You cannot put your feet up that high and, of course, Dier made the most of it in exactly the same way Dias/etc would do in their box. I don't rate Gonzalez, he's not good enough and it was a stupid challenge. It forces the ref or VAR to take a look and make a decision and it rarely looks good on the slow-mo.

It's not the end of the world, but it's very frustrating to pick up bookings and lose 2 points by being sloppy.

As I said, you're talking nonsense. That was not remotely like a 3rd division performance in any way.
If another of the chances we created go in and the ref does not give a ridiculous penalty, you would be on here saying that was absolutely fantastic and just how you need to play away from home in Europe.
We played well. We passed the ball about nicely and we created plenty of chances.
If we played like that against any 3rd tier team, we would obliterate them. So yout opinion that it was a 3rd tier level performance is utterly ridiculous. You are being over dramatic without any due cause.

Unfortunately the 2nd string is a dud. Our subs don't come on and shine. They come on and mess up.
Something is wrong with the fringe players. When they get a start they don't shine, when they come on late they are shaky.

The player that made us drop points was Silva. FK went to him and he put in the weakest cross ever. Last minute counter and he checks back. Awful stuff. It’s not Nico’s fault this con artist gave a FK for a non foul and a penalty for non contact
