AS Monaco (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

The player that made us drop points was Silva. FK went to him and he put in the weakest cross ever. Last minute counter and he checks back. Awful stuff. It’s not Nico’s fault this con artist gave a FK for a non foul and a penalty for non contact
Maybe Silva was poor, but I'm still waiting for Nico to actually aid the team in some way. All he seems to do is get us in bother.
There are glaring weak links in the team, and we all know who they are.

As I said, you're talking nonsense. That was not remotely like a 3rd division performance in any way.
If another of the chances we created go in and the ref does not give a ridiculous penalty, you would be on here saying that was absolutely fantastic and just how you need to play away from home in Europe.
We played well. We passed the ball about nicely and we created plenty of chances.
If we played like that against any 3rd tier team, we would obliterate them. So yout opinion that it was a 3rd tier level performance is utterly ridiculous. You are being over dramatic without any due cause.
Did you moan at your parents that they didn't really take your nose when they played with you?

Had more than enough chances to win that, but i wish we would play with more urgency at times. Feels like we are settling with a 1 goal lead too often. Conceding late so much should show this isn't working. You have to be beating them, especially with most of their team out.

6/10 performance from us, punished for not killing the game but ref was a knob and wanted the upset

If Monaco had fouled one of our players with a foot 5 foot something in the air, or even attempted to do it, we would be screaming for a pen.

Poor decision from Gonzales in the moment.

He didn't cost us the draw though. Too tippy tappy and not ruthless enough in the second half.

What do you want him to do just watch Dier head it unchallenged into the net

Not a popular opinion but that first goal could have been prevented if Jonny boy had closed the ball down, rather than standing off his man. Small margins but just one action could have made a difference. Don’t get me wrong, it was a quality finish, but preventable.
That said, we had enough opportunities to put the game to bed and didn’t do it.
We’re still alive here though……

You can’t give players that amount of time and space at this level. Foden’s pathetic attempt at closing him down was just as bad but he is a forward so forgivable.

Our defenders are so slow now. I thought Monaco were wank but they still caused us a few problems due to our complete lack of pace at the back and in midfield. Bernado is like a fucking snail now.

Good analysis from Erling after the game.
He'll be making he feelings known with a motivational chat in the dressing room

More than an hour with Bernardo and Stones on the right, no crosses even when the game requires it, no danger, it takes a miracle to win a match with a dead right side like that, you lose 2 points stupidly...

Tonight highlights how far we’ve dropped over the past couple of years and how much work we’ve still got to do to get back to the top.

Yes, the referee was a blatant cheat, but we’ve experienced that many times over the years and we’ve had enough nous and ability to overcome it. Not tonight though.

Monaco were a really poor side, yet we constantly gave the ball away, we looked extremely vulnerable on the counter and the whole balance of the team was off because Guardiola, for some unknown reason, insists on playing Bernado who once again was the worst player on the pitch.

Meanwhile we’ve got a player like Haaland up front, in the form of his life, and we can’t create a single chance for him the second half against a pub team.

Guardiola really needs to get it together and quickly, because he’s running out of excuses- he made changes tonight which were unnecessary and made the team worse.
Bluemoon's no1 clown ^
