Savinho extends his contract to 2031

It's easy to do!

Christ, some people are too touchy.

People aren't digging him out, just pointing out he hasn't done enough for an extension.

Been here just over a year, struggled to make any impact when called upon this season and gets an extension out of the blue.

It's a bit odd that's all.
Not odd at all.If City do decide to sell him then his transfer fee will be higher. If Spurs were serious, and by all accounts ir did appear that way, then £60M become £70M. Good bit of business IMO and yes I do agree that so far he has been inconsistent but the lads only just 20/21 years of age.
Remember Rodris shit displays for the first 18 months ?

It can go either way, they could have increased the asset value, equally created a large liability. Only time will tell.

Do you?

I live in hope. His 1st touch is too often a 5 yard pass. Until he gets that out of his system he'll never fulfill his potential. He should be producing at least the same as Doku by now
.
I posted recently I believe he will be the same player in 3 years from now. Hopefully that comes back to bite my ass.

Not gonna read all 9 pages but I imagine all the posts are unanimous in their support for this decision.

Pep says he’ll get there and be a good player. I’ll defer to Pep for 12 months.

That’s a stat.

He also was one of our top creators last season. He got 13 assists in all competitions, 10 in the PL and created 43 chances with only De Bruyne with more chances created per 90mins.

For a 20 year old, that’s impressive.

De Bruyne got 9 PL assists in his first season with us and he was 24, DSilva got 8 PL assists in his first season with us and he was 24, Foden’s best season for assists was 2023-24 when he got 8 PL assists and he was 23 and won POTS.
Worth noting Phil was gash last season and missed half of it through injury, KDB was even worse, Bernado is a shadow of his former self and 90% of the forum crowd when we saw Gundogan in the starting line up.

For me he has been very poor, poor work rate, average finisher and an amazing ability to find opposition players in the box from crosses. Only thing is that he is with the best coach/manager in history so he sees something in him that he can work on.

Mostly agree. I think that he has a very good work rate. But his contribution when starting on the right has been subpar on a P/L basis. I've no clue whatsoever why we didn't sell him to Spurs for a big price.

What makes you say that? I’d love him to become one but I’ve not seen anything resembling that so far. Bobb is younger and looks far more likely to have a top career.
I guess it's in the eye of the beholder but I have seen plenty to suggest he has lots of talent. He has had a lot of great dribbles , created decent chances, has excellent ball control.
His application around the talent remains uncertain but I would be surprised if many people agree regarding his actual talent. And as pointed out he is younger than Bobb and has had to adjust to a completely new country /environment. I have no idea how he will develop but the concept that he doesn't have the talent to develop is a strange take.

In recent years, I don't remember a City player having such vocal opposition while still pulling on a shirt. It's a shame.

It's definitely not "sensational" is it haha. It's a decent return.

Let's break down these stats you're mentioning -

1 assist in 9 CL matches - not sensational
8 assists in 29 Prem matches - not sensational

It was decent. You don't have to go to the extreme just because you like a player. He's definitely not "shit" but he's got a hell of a lot to work on.
As he should have at this stage of his development. It is not those who back him on this forum that goes to extremes. The point is that you can use his stats and call them whatever you want depending on the the narrative you want to peddle. The reality is that he has shown a lot already as a creator while not really showing signs of being a goalscorer yet. All though he is not afraid to shoot which is a good thing. Other posters take these numbers to condemn him to a lifetime of mediocrity and we all know why

Not disputing that. You said that his stats were "sensational". They're not
