Brentford no longer high press under Andrews and currently sit 13th in the league.

Thus, I expect that we'll deploy aggressive tactics against Brentford - high line, inverted fullbacks. This style of play continues to cause problems for us because playing such a high line requires that attackers/midfielders are able to press quickly, otherwise a long ball over the top of our defense will cause huge problems.

I think we'll win - but due to our high line and not-so-great press, I think that Brentford will definitely score.

3-1 to City?

I didn't have a problem with Pep's cautious away tactics in the old-style CL but I do now. The rules of the competition mean that there is an incentive to take risks away from home. To qualify automatically you need to try and win at least one of your away games in the CL. We were dominating Monaco and let that game slip. Partly because of a rash defensive error, but also partly because we decided to manage the game out in our usual manner. That's fair enough for the old format because then a point away would have been a good result, but that's no longer the case.
The ref was a completely useless bastard, all the officials were. That really did not help!

Is this a programmed response? They just expressed reservations about a tricky away game not universal doom and gloom.
Said he "wasn't looking forward to it", which as I said is insane. What's the point of supporting the club if you feel it's that bad?

I disagree, I think if you win your home matches you'll get through easily. One out of four away games shouldn't be beyond us. We were unlucky last year in drawing RM (again), but they struggled too. I still believe we're a better team than many on here give us credit for.

Have Sty chosen this game for its main Super Sunday game because of our less than stellar results against Brentford in recent seasons, and they’re hoping for / expecting an upset?

So many shithouses on here. Acting like every side we face atm are some super team.

We seem to be fluctuating between decent performances like at the Emirates, to some horror ones where we made Spurs look like a world class team.

Team certainly needs time but we went from high confidence to yet again low against Monaco.

Sadly teams don't need to be SUPER to get a result against us nowadays.

Brighton weren't good and Monaco I thought were very underwhelming.
Yet we're still outscoring every other team. We were robbed against Monaco, plain and simple, no other way they would have scored.

Brighton currently have a similar record to Chelsea and a better record than Newcastle, Villa and Forest who all finished above them last season. It was only the 3rd match of the season with everybody still getting used to playing with each other.

Why must everybody keep analysing every result as a mini crisis without taking everything else into consideration? Even the best teams in the world rarely go the entire season unbeaten, it happens.

No we didn't we just lost out to a last minute penalty that shouldn't have been given. The foul on Doku that wasn't given was more of a pen, you can't litigate for that, it happens, always has, always will.

Spurs as only the second match of the season, anything can happen especially in a team that are still getting used to playing with each other. We still had more shots on target than they did, more possession, far more corners and they made more saves but as I say it was an early season match when you always get results that are not as predicted, especially in a team with so many new players getting to know each others game.

Doubt Rodri will start so Nico G likely to start. Rodri didn't have a great game on Wednesday anyway and clearly needs more time. Need to stay in touch with the top 2 so a win is important. Haven't won there for a couple of years and when we have won, it's been nervy.

Looks like the dreaded Third Kit might get an airing, based on the travel sweats.

Rodri to start and get 45-70 mins depending on how he’s feeling/doing.

Be nice if we can get a few mins in the legs of a few injury returnees, but most important thing is 3pts, staying right in the mix going into the Intl Break, and come out of it with a few of the walking wounded available for selection.

That's insane. Why do you even bother supporting the club then?
Why are you judging somebody's love for the club based upon their assessment of the team?

We're not in MAGA-land, it's permitted to have some negative thoughts...

For the record, I'm far more encouraged than I was pre-season, although that's largely down to finding Liverpool pretty unimpressive compared to the juggernaut I expected. Early days of course.

From the table, it’s a must win that’ll put us 5th, 3pts behind Arsenal, going into an international break that SHOULD give us the time to get multiple first team players fit to start putting in some minutes.

Win 4-0 and we will also have the best GD in the League. 3-0 has us tied on +11 with Arsenal. GD could be very important this season given everyone looks a little vulnerable on any given weekend.

COME ON CITY!!!
