Will we win the league this season?

Definitely more of a chance than I thought before the season and at the start.

We'd need a few things to happen, Rodri getting back to his best, Cherki to get firing and more goals from wide players but I definitely think we've a chance.

I know this is ifs and buts BUT if we win tomorrow and we'd hung on 2 more minutes at Arse, we'd probably be not far off bookies faves.

I think Arse will ultimately win it but if we're in the race come March time, that's when we'd have a advantage with Pep and the experience. Would help us to see Dippers and Goons go deep in Champs league

Arsenal’s to lose. Fortunately, I think they have it in them to do exactly that.
They weren't that great against us and really struggled to break us down even though we had set our stall out. It took a wonder goal with a lot of luck attached for them just to get a point.

They beat the poor Rags but were lucky.

Lost to the Dippers in a dour game.

A couple of their better players have injury concerns.

I wouldn't give them any more chance than us, Dips or even Chelsea after today.

No.

Arsenal look like the team to win the PL title this season.

After Arsenal, any of the top teams can finish 2nd.

1828 tomorrow could be 4/1 3rd faves with a great win, 11/2 3rd faves if we draw, or 13/2 3rd faves if we lose.

The big change has been the flipping of Arsenal and Liverpool as 1st and 2nd faves with Chelsea very long 4th faves at 25/1.

You see people who are confident City will win it but won't risk a few hundred on it, the wet wipes :)

Arsenal should be favourites because of their strength in depth but at the moment I think we have a chance. I watched Chelsea v Liverpool and I think Liverpool's weakness is their central defence and I don't know how they can fix that without buying in January, and by then they'll probably be out of it.

Maybe it is their go, maybe not, but they still can't beat their direct rivals, look like they'll struggle to create chances in some games, and have looked pretty average in a few of their games. And critically we don't know if they have the backbone in the spring when things get squeaky bum. Honestly I don't know how anyone can say anything for sure, there are 12 really decent teams, no clear tactical system that is edging anything, and long fucking throws are back in fashion. Feels old school to me in the sense of let's see where we are at New Year.

We'd be top of the league on goal difference over Liverpool with 15 points and Arse on 14 points. Mad :)

Arse prob still favourites though.

This is the Champions League. There are no easy away games in the CL. It's not the Europa League where half the sides are demotivated. We should have won. We were the dominant side but we were too cautious and suffered for it at the end.

I think what is significant about City's early season form is that we have taken up where we left off last season, and we are improving as the form of individual players like Foden and Doku improves.

I would expect City fans to be encouraged by this but this forum is suffocated by stupid people or people on a mission.
Spot on. Also everybody forgets that in the league we were unbeaten since the 0-1 loss at Forest in March yet some on here talk as though we're about to get relegated.

Somebody said a couple of weeks ago that Liverpool were "light years" ahead of us yet win tomorrow and we're 2 points behind them with a better goal difference. I've said all season that they've scraped most of their results late on, they haven't looked convincing and could easily have been 8 points worse off.

Yet it's still doom and gloom with everything from a couple of dropped points to a misplaced pass or a solitary goal conceded, like it's never happened to any other team before. It's just so depressing given how good the squad is and the potential they have. All we want is a bit of healthy optimism, the club have earned that much from us by now surely?

8/9 days ago it was Liverpool's.
Now, today, it's Arsenal's.
Oh, ye of little faith!
It's City's.
We have the most exciting squad by far and when we get all the players back and used to playing each other I think we'll be back to our very best, and I don't think we're that far away. Why the hell nobody can see this after what we've witnessed over the past decade I have absolutely no idea. Reijnders was voted best midfielder in Serie A last season. Watch Khusanov and Cherki's back history videos and you'll realise how good they are. Add to that the players we have, the world's best striker, the world's best keeper and the rest and once we click (and we will), we'll be untouchable.
