This please me! You can see Rodri looks like every injury is a long one. Obviously prefer him not to get knocks at all but quick recovery should be a confidence booster for him

Not a fan of nunes but think he had one of his better games today although brent ford toothless really

But to the game great first half second was not so great, we should have closed it in the first half Foden and Reijnder should have scored on their chances. To be a little negative we must start to tap in those typ of chances we did a great first half but with the second we did we could easily lost the 3 points

Really ? I see massive improvements in him even though he’s had very little game time, certainly not consistently, stick with him fella I reckon he’s about to prove his worth in the team, sometimes it’s about learning to appreciate what a player brings to a side, no point comparing him to Rodri at this stage, even Rodri isn’t Rodri at the minute, very few are, but the more I see him play the more I understand his value to the team

Both teams will have looked at us this season, the key players we've lost and written us off. The way the table looks now has put a little bit of doubt into their minds which is a good thing.

We are very much a squad in transition. Nobody loses key players like De Bruyne, Gundogan, Walker and yes Ederson and doesn't struggle a bit, as we did so for a period last week against Burnley. At 1-1, I said this to the bloke next to me at the game. Somebody else took exception to this until I explained it to him. It wasn't a criticism. I was simply pointing out that as we settle new players in there will be periods in games we have to suffer. The second half today was a perfect example of that....but we won. Digging in and doing so will again lift the team. Brentford is a tough place to go, they are the modern day Stoke.

So seven games in the signs are promising. At times we look like the City of old, purring and totally dominating. Then, often in the same game we look what we are, a team trying to incorporate new players and gel. The one worry is the lack of goals from other players. We have scored fifteen. Haaland has nine of those and two were own goals. Others have to start doing their bit, especially our wingers.

Totally all this. I'd prefer us to look good for 45-60 minutes and find ways to win at this stage of the season, it means we are moving in the right direction. I don't think we have put a good 90 in yet (United notwithstanding, but they're shite) but all signs are looking positive. I just don't see the collapse of last year with this group of players.

I kind of think he will. He's got it in him and hopefully he'll be as big for us as Rodri and the legend that Rodri replaced.

More importantly he sports a side parting in his hair, which is good see in these times of top knots, Foden type silly lines, blonde tints and other such follicle tomfoolery.
 
Games like today should not be viewed and judged by individuals' performance because it was a team effort

Bloody well earned 3 points away from home, and great teams are built on the ugly side of the game and digging deep when it really matters, Haaland for me got man of the match, but not for the goal but for the hard work in defending and helping the defence
