Oh, you think the people calling out clear and obvious breaches of law, policy and government ethics are the deranged ones?

If you can't see the obvious correlation between what is going on in the Republican party and the well documented path to fascism, then I'm afraid I can't help you.

This conversation seems to involve a lot of the big brains who were saying there would be widespread rioting in the US this summer, Maine seceding from the union followed by civil war, imminent Russian military collapse, etc.

Well depending upon what you mean by conservative values you should probably be pretty appalled at what the current administration is doing. Project 2025 isn't just the next notch along from Movement Conservatism it's qualitatively different.

Whatever people think about the ideology of the previous iteration of the Republican party, it did constrain itself to operate broadly within established norms of democracy but Project 2025 feels no such constraints. What you're seeing currently isn't conservatism it's the establishment of illiberal and authoritarian government.

Trump isn't remotely conservative, unless you completely divorce the word from all historical meaning.

"The opposition is unelectable" is just a poor excuse for supporting a fascist.

I'd have to disagree. My Conservative values are a free market economy, minimum beurocracy, strong borders, law and order, family values and patriotic to your country.
As I mentioned before the opposition are far too busy infighting they've opened the door to project2025.
More fool them.

Perhaps you're against political violence, in which case supporting someone who pardoned a group convicted for attempting the violent overthrow of democracy in his favour seems a little inconsistent. And most certainly not "conservative", as you claim to be.

I think we’re all confused here.

Why don’t you just specifically lay out exactly what about him you like or don’t like?

A dupe is someone who has been duped. Example in a sentence: “If Trump has convinced you that he is conservative or represents conservative values, you’re a dupe.”
