Nedum Onuoha touched on a delicate but salient point about some of their players after the loss of Jota. I think it’s affected some of the players and staff more than we might think.
So I'm guessing it gave them a lift for the first 5 games then?

And every single player has been on top form for them all season?

Listen to what Nedum had to say, or don’t. You might have an inclination to see another point of view, or not.

I'm fine. I'm not interested in how their players are feeling.

Only themselves to blame. They didn’t step their game up at all when Chelsea were there for the taking.

Not sure Slot is the best tactically, tbh. Some dipper fans already losing patience - three defeats in a week won’t help.

Signings - particularly in full back areas - haven’t clicked yet. Isak not started well. Ektike did but is obviously not the preferred option over Isak and that’ll cause issues. Wirtz will come good but when?

Salah has gone to shit. That contract extension last season looks ominous IMO - not a shot on target today and generally did fuck all.
rawk's an entertaining read at the moment..............

Some posters daring to suggest that Wirtz and Izak are perhaps not actually world best and even some questioning Slot - with of course means the rest are screaming at them as it is a crime against the cult to question things

Now that Kelleher has left Littlewoods, do the cult still think that they have the best reserve goalkeeper in the world?

Not that they did, anyway, because Stefan was better than him.

That's exactly what it is. Like religious fundamentalists who stick their fingers in their ears and sing loudly to counter any logic you might have when discussing the subject. They believe in a old bearded man who lives in the sky, and if you don't believe in it they won't have anything more to do with you. The dipper cult is a facade, nothing more or less. The football itself come a poor second to the sense of belonging, being a part of the gang, like comrades in arms against the rest of the world.

Their real issue with everybody is because they know they are not relevant anymore, the days of King Kenny, Keegan's permed hair and Grobellar's goal line antics disappeared many decades ago - a one-off title win by default in twenty years doesn't equate to a Shankly revival, dippers. It really doesn't.

You can guarantee 9th november they will all be ballon dor players at max effort! beat city cup final as norm.
Littlewoods' record at Etihad is nothing to write home about.

In fact, it’s nearly as bad as ours at Klanfield.

Yes, I know they beat us at home last season, but didn’t most teams at that time?

Only beat us 4 times in the league since we moved to the etihad i think

Conor Bradley is fast heading for a suspension. He has missed half the season due to injury but in 7 starts for club and country he has 6 yellow cards in all comps. I noticed at the weekend that Slot had to take him off at half time to protect him from getting sent off. Garnacho is not exactly the best left winger he will come up against but he can't even handle him.

The media are focusing on Salah as the problem for Slot but imo their weakest link is their defence.

2 title wins

With the money they’ve spent, it has to click at some point. You can’t throw £500 million at a squad and not compete - it just doesn’t happen. The real question is how long it will take them to actually find a way of playing.

Right now, Wirtz looks like he’s unsettled the balance of the team. Salah is playing far too selfishly and doesn’t put in the defensive shift he used to, while Gakpo off the ball doesn’t give the same cover to the defence that Luis Díaz did. Then there’s the Ekitike situation, where does he even fit if Isak is nailed on starter through the middle?

At the back, Konate already looks like he’s got his eyes on Madrid, Kerkez has been really poor, and Frimpong is pushing so high that it leaves a huge gap in behind. They’re missing TAA’s quality in possession too, that trademark long ball over the top to Salah just isn’t there anymore, and they’re struggling to play through packed defences.

At the moment it all feels like a bit of a mess, very similar to where we were last season.
Man United says, 'hold my beer' ...
