Might Jack Grealish play for City again?

I don't think he's coming back, I really like Jack as a person but this time last year he was in the bargain DVD service station bargain bin.
There are actually some very good deals there. It's like stumbling across a Chucky vhs tape in a bargain bin, You pick it up, and then find out some genius recorded 70's erotica over the chucky tape. At least that was the experience of someone I know.

All the talk about Grealish being freed from Pep's control has been shown to be nonsense. He is playing the same style and role at Everton that he did at City albeit he's more effective. He also benefits from being Everton's go to man when they are on the counter-attack. His game is better suited to playing for Everton because he will find more occasions where there is space in the final third.

Good Luck to him. I continue to follow him and hope that he does well. I find it amusing that the football media who once pilloried him when he was playing for Manchester City, now praise him, "Isn't it wonderful to see Jack Grealish flourish now that he has the freedom to play at Everton".

Exactly, if he came back he'd be exactly the same as when he left. He's still not showing the confidence to go marauding through the opposition before slamming one in the top corner. I swear that the media are just so desperate to suggest City ruined him that they're not even watching what he does in games. His goal last weekend was used as evidence that Tuchel should have called him up. The defender cleared it against his foot for fuck sake!

I like him as a person, I supported him when he was with us and I wish him all the best at Everton. But he will not be playing for City again unless there's a considerable injury list. Last season was his chance to step up and drive the team and arguably, prove his value. But he didn't. He didn't apply himself professionally beyond pre-season, which was driven by the England snub more than his desire to impress Pep. It's game over for him whilst Pep is in charge.

It is easier to shine in a mid-table team. He is also fired up to play his way back into the England team, but as things stand, Doku on the left this season has mostly been excellent, and his worst performance, albeit late on against Brentford and not bad, reminded me of Grealish at City over the last couple of seasons. I honestly can’t see him coming back, but if City can’t get a decent bid for him, he might.

Has he still got it?
Asking for a friend.

Doku was abysmal against Wolves, that was his worst performance but agree Doku has been great. My Everton supporting mate was trying to say how Grealish would start for us, I'd have Grealish back in a heartbeat, but Doku is outperforming him currently.

Grealish is enjoying a manager who believes in him, playing against teams not sat back and playing every week. With the motivation to prove people wrong and get back in the England squad. If he couldn't shine under them terms then he never will. He won't come back to us though, I don't recall many examples if any where a player has retuned from a loan spell and worked their way back into the first team who wasn't a youngster. Pep is too stubborn too.

Sooo pep didn't believe in him. And if doku wasn't playing so well grealish would be the choice, but Pep is too stubborn to potentially have him back anyway? I might have twisted your words a bit lol.

Not sure I see it that way myself. Grealish couldn't hit the heights at a top club consistently, but in a mid table team he thrives. I do think it's that simple. Grealish also revels in playing his own game, being the star, it gives him confidence and he is happier. That's never going to happen at City where its all about the team. He couldn't cope with that imo.

He was one of our most important players in that treble, that level was where he needed to stay and really should have. I'm not so sure this was a pep purchase either.

Grealish sadly is not good enough for City.
So no he will not play for City again.
Another myth he was one of our most important players in the treble season.
Way down the order of player importance even though it was his best season.

It’s not a myth is it. During the treble season, in particular the champions league - he was one of our best players

I’d have him over most of our current wingers, but he does need that freedom to be creative

He lost his way near the end of the season.
I could think of at least 10 players who had better seasons.
Ederson,Akanji,Diaz,Stones,Foden,Rodri,KDB,Gundogan,Silva and Haaland.

Grealish used to frustrate me, he gets to the corner, with four or five players waiting for a cross, and then passes back to Gvardiol, Ake or whoever is playing left back. Doku is much les predictable, so defences get tied in knots.

Even 10 players being better than him is incredibly impressive in what was arguably the greatest club side single season in English football history. He had a cracking season that year and there is no arguement against that.

He’s playing for a team where he knows he’s not gonna get hooked or dropped for the next game if his standards drop slightly

Also in the couple of games I’ve seen him play for Everton he’s not done anything differently than what he did for city.. it’s just that it stands out in an inferior team

Moyes believes in Jack because he hasn't got anyone better, City have at the moment.

He's brilliant. Moyles is a genius!
The best in the Prem. Unbelievable winger and would improve every side.

Errr lets just see if Everton pay the £50m option????

I suspect not. And then the question is where will he go?
But I don't think it'll be back to the Etihad.
