He could pass away before any announcement but before and decision in which case he is out of the running however if he is announced as the winner then dies before inauguration then they are the only circumstances he could win it posthumously.

I’m glad that someone else actually understands the nomination and awards process, and indeed why Trump wasn’t going to win it today, but will next year.

I’m afraid that the people mocking Trump for not winning today are only advertising their ignorance of the facts.

Makes you wonder why so many of his acolytes nominated him for this year's award. Probably ignorant of the facts I imagine.

It’s funny that he didn’t win (when you know how the process works, it was incredibly unlikely he could have won anyway).

I do think he’s the most likely candidate next year due to the pressure he can exert.

I would have thought, given all the unexpected things that have happened in the last decade, that no sensible and rational person would predict any such thing with any degree of certainty.
