Adam Wharton

£60m+ for someone that's never started more than 16 games a season in the Prem?!
Hes had 1 full season in the prem. Having a re-occurring injury for a half a season at 20 isn't something to be worried about particularly when hes hardly missed a game in the rest of his career making over 100 appearances at 21.

£60m would be an absolute steal, considering who is going to be in for him.

Manchester United are planning to launch a £60m move for Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton, with club bosses believing a bid in that region would be good enough to tempt the Eagles to sell their sought-after playmaker.

If he’s available for that price he will have clubs a lot better than those twats in for him. Hopefully including us
Ive seen this on the Talkshite website, where he wants champions league football and then they go on about the rags making a 60m offer. Laugh I nearly fell off my chair laughing, not for the offer but anyone using the rags and champions league football in the same article.

We paid 50m for Stones 9 years ago at 22 and hes been an absolute bargain. £60m in today's market would be an even bigger bargain.

Correct. He wasn't injury prone then and had just started 31 games the season just gone. Had he started just 16 games we wouldn't have paid £50m for him

Stones had played 128 games at 22 when we signed him Wharton has played 104 at 21. Wharton isn't injury prone and will likely have played more games than Stones at 22 despite making his debut approx 9 months later than Stones.

He's not injury prone?! Was he just not good enough and that's why he only made 16 starts then last season?

Having an injury doesn't make you injury prone, I assume you think Rodri is injury prone?

Eh? Where did I say having an injury makes you injury prone?

He had FIVE separate injuries last season -

Cause: Conmoción Cerebral
From 19 May to 2 June
Cause: Ankle injury
From 5 May to 18 May
Cause: Groin injury
From 1 November to 2 February
Cause: Groin injury
From 14 October to 19 October
Cause: Thigh injury
From 4 September to 13 September

If he has a season this season relatively injury free then we should definitely go for him.

he was 20! players get more injuries at that age as their bodies are growing. It doesnt make them injury prone.

Haaland was similar at the same age, assume you wouldn't of signed him either?

What the fuck are you going on about mate? You said he's not injury prone, I proved he was last season. Now you're saying that he is, but that's normal? He had surgery on his groin, being a major injury.

Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing?

If he goes this season injury free - great! Let's be in for him. But if he has a similar amount of injuries this season and only starts 16 games again, we won't be paying £60m+ for him

You haven't proven anything. And nowhere have I said hes injury prone. In fact i said the opposite

Injury prone players don't play nearly 50 games in a season.

I'd also check wherever you are getting your injury stats from one of them has him injured 2nd May to 18th May - he played and beat us in the FA Cup final in that period as well as playing in other games too. And two of them cover international breaks where he didnt miss any Palace games!

So we're saying he just wasn't good enough for Palace then last season, and that's the reason why only started 16 games?

Okay mate, you can go to bed think you won if you want. Have a great sleep

I'm not sure what you think there is to win discussing footballers on a football forum?

You're really struggling with this, aren't you? He had 2 injuries that kept him out for a few months - he played in 27 games last season.

You said he had 5 injuries, 2 of them he didnt miss any games for Palace, and 1 of them was a concussion where he played games in that period. So we are left with 2 injuries from your supposed 5.

If you think being injured twice in a season makes him injury prone that's fine. It doesnt in my opinion.

I think what you're really struggling with is my opinion - if he goes this season and only starts 16 games we won't be dropping £60+ million on him.

Looks to me like he's had a recurring groin problems - https://www.flashscore.com/player/wharton-adam/v5IYUpDm/injury-history/

But if you're telling me he hasn't, I'll take your word for it then..
