City and Black History

Great stuff

Btw I always love the old pic Andy Bucknall posts on social media, from Stretford Junior Blues, around this time of year.

Would I be right in thinking that Vinnie's statue is the first statue of a person of colour outside of London or Cardiff? (And I can't think of any in Ireland either).

Just an observation, by the way. I hope I'm not seen as posting this in a patronising "aren't we great" sort of way.

If that's true it would be absolutely absurd and shows how far this country needs to go to address what the vast majority of people wrongly assume isn't an issue.

As for this video, absolutely brilliant.

I'm sure there's one of a Ghandi somewhere.
And there's many of the most famous Palestinian.......

Sir Billy Boston, rugby league legend, has 3 statues. I know you are talking football but the beautiful game might lag behind the M62, working class game.

G'wan, I'll allow you, Jesus :-)
(And I imagone there are probably a few of St Martin in various Catholic churches too).

PS: there will be a fair few knuckle dagging "Christians" disappointed when they figure out white-marble sculpted Jesus was Middle-Eastern, conceived out of wedlock and a refugee.

The boy done well, innit?!
Supports City, though - and apparently, he used to track back :-)
