5 | John Stones - 2025/26

Dunno what to say then, but I believe he's said a bit too much, if they'd won a WC or even a Euro's then I would kind of get it, (these best moments in his career), you know like Rodri has, but there is no way any City fan should take heart from his comments, ask any match going fan about him and majority will say waste of time, I was 50/50 but not now.

As a committed England City I fan a do take heart from John Stones affirmation that he likes playing for his country. It shows a man of courage fighting through his injuries and coming back to fight again.

I suppose some supporters don’t understand what playing for your country means to some players because of the apathy they have towards the national team.

Players careers are short. It’s up to them how they live it. If he values playing for his country the most, then he’s clearly patriotic and it’s the pinnacle for him. It’s not the same for every player. We just to love complain.

I want to like this 100 times @BlueTG . Thank you.

I understand alright, I'm 54 and seen England win fuck all, more to the point seen them fail miserably, Stones will be remembered for what he achieved at City though (albeit not as many games as it could have been, not the national team when his career finishes

I’m 84 yrs old and have seen them win the World Cup (yes the Men’s team) so know the euphoria and would like to experience it again. And with players like John Stones up there trying for us I think we will eventually and he will be remembered for his City career and his England career.

Just my humble opinion.

Not much chance of seeing England win WC again in our lifetimes, John Stones or no John Stones

You are just trying to wind me up again Mr @jimharri , it isn’t going to work. I can rise above it and float away. ;-) :-)
No; no wind up. The club (and Pep in particular) has transformed his career. Ignoring the trophies for now, would he have developed so much as a player if he'd stayed at Everton? Would he have earned as many England caps (he'd won a few at Everton, nothing outstanding)? Honestly?

Just took a gander at the prematch for England.
Stones plays, but apparently Guehis minutes are "being managed".
No chance Stones plays for us at the weekend!!!

think the only reason he didnt get injured is he's been living on the bench for us lol, so he was rested.
