52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

cant see the problem, most probably did it as a kick up the arse, however people are that precious nowadays it seems you cant give out a few home truths because it might affect Bobbs mental health , all the coach is saying "he was shit in the first half, and if by magic bluemoon has looked at his career and have started trying to assassinate his character

Nothing wrong with what he said imo if that's an accurate assessment of his display. I highly doubt that quote provides the full context for a start, he also specifically says first half, so I assume he improved second half and did what was asked after a half time talk from him seeing as he got the full 90.
He did "improve" in the 2nd half.

He was very poor in the first half, he is lacking everything.

He takes too long with the ball, positions himself strangely and doesn’t press well. He’s done that in training and been very good at it.

But if you ask Oscar, I think he’ll say that the first half was his weakest performance for the national team. The second half was the next weakest.

Bobb’s frustrated with himself at the moment. You can see it on his face and how he shakes his head when things don’t come off for him.

It’s like he knows he can be much better but it’s just not happening at the moment.

You know exactly what I meant . Funny that Bobb gets so many excuses

He's just had less chance to disappoint so far than Savinho, that's all.

And yes, he's a kid. Football age isn't just the number, it's the experience. This is his first full season at first team level, so we should expect some dips this year, but he does need them to be relatively few still, or we'll need to move on. Big season for him. But isn't every season for every player at our level?

Bobb can do all the things Savinho does; Savinho can't do all the things Bobb does. So simple as that.

As a general point we can't have too many short players on the pitch at once in the PL - they get muscled out. Yesterday saw us with finish with Phil, Cherki, Bernie, Oscar & Rico out there along with Kova who isn't very big either.

Played ok when he came on but needs to make more of an impact to get a starting place. Before his injury, I saw him do stuff that pretty much nobody else in the squad could do. I haven't seen that since he returned. He is a clever, neat footballer but so are very many others. Maybe his confidence has been damaged by the long lay off.

I think he played well when he came on vs Everton. His control is outstanding. He played a bit safe perhaps but I think that the instructions of Bernardo and Bobb were to probably play keep ball until the chance arose. We played very well as a team towards the end of the game vs Everton.

Bobb was out for a year and is young. We should be excited at having players like Savinho and Bobb at City. I am enjoying this season watching players improve. It's an unusual moment because this time we are not watching a ready-made City team, we are watching a young City side take shape.
