11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Not his day today.

He wasn't awful but seemed to have trouble with the final ball today.
Personally I thought he was awful for much of his time on the pitch. One careless bit of play almost cost us a goal!

He has had a couple of really good games this season but today wasn’t one of them. Should have scored too.

Has to learn to make that near post shot placement. Hes always aiming for the far post and he fluffed it badly today trying that while the entire near post was open.

Also has to learn to find a way to make impact when hes not quicker than the opponent. That will happen too. Got into an unnecessary personal duel with Ndoye today and lost most of it because he was trying to prove he can take him on from standing start. Everton's #10 was up for it all day. This is not Macedonia defense. Just make more runs between the lines. Its crazy that City opened the deadlock because Doku dropping deep in just the right moment opened that space for Nico on the left. Their entire strategy was oriented around containing him.

I think his confidence dropped a bit today. Maybe thats good. He can't go around believing he can do anything he wants without using his head. As always needs to think more and play with more energy off the ball.

Needs to lift his head when he’s got the ball and has beat his man. He has the ability to go past players but can’t cross, can’t pick a pass and can’t finish. I also think he’s incredibly lazy in getting back once he’s gone forward and lost the ball.

If he can unlock these areas he’d be one of the best around. As it is though, 2 years in he hasn’t changed and therefore is not good enough.

still has to prove it wasn't just a purple patch. It's not like his output in terms of G/A was through the roof even when he was playing well.

A really poor performance. His reaction to losing the ball when attacking the Everton box was pathetic, just strolling back which actually nearly cost us a goal. His finish in the first half equally poor. Created nothing of note. I keep hearing he’s having a great season. 3 good games, some poor ones and a lot of time on the bench. I can’t see him being at City next season. He never celebrates when we score too, Pep won’t like that either.

Man posts like this always excite me

For me we didn't support him enough yesterday. Too often he got the ball completely isolated up against Ndiaye and O'Brien.
Thats kinda his fault though for being too static in a position where hes begging to be doubled. Needs to mix it up when there is no space there. You can't afford to give him the overlap because with him not exactly being a tracking back machine, the defense will be exposed.

He did create a pretty good chance for Reijnders coming off one of those rare movements in space instead of get the ball to feet and take on the opponent.

Problem for him is he goes for it so much and is so electric that when it doesnt come off for him, like it won’t 100% of the time, it’s very obvious. When he does succeed, like the assist in the derby, it’s superb. He doesn’t hide. So when he has end product it’s brilliant and when he doesn’t, hes slated.
I really like him. And I like that he doesn’t hide away or back pass

His biggest weakness is that he can’t really use his left foot well when going outside + he always has to slow down the play for his playstyle to work

I said that to my lad, when he moves inside he can create, like the Foden goal v Utd. I thought he was poor overall.
