Once the double team gets constant, he needs to get off the line and come a bit to the middle and free open the line for the fullback.

Frankly, he should do this tactically, whether or not he is doubled. He should Interchange constantly between holding the line and going central during a game.

he needs to learn to place and create he's shots
 
I didn't think it was his best performance, but in his defense, multiple times he and Gvardiol got the ball in our own half down the left, it looked like no one was coming to show for the ball, resulting in us turning it over.

At the same time, I feel like Pep has reverted him back to a pure wide winger, I've barely seen the central Doku these last few games, wonder why.
 
Teams are doubling up on him att the minite, just his presence on the pitch creates space for others. Didn't do anything different tonight from what he has been doing all season, It just didnt come off for him tonight, which happens and is fine, especially when Savinho steps up tonight.

Well today at least, Gvardiol wasn't likely to be overlapping him so it makes sense that Doku stayed wider
 
poor game; had a good start to the season, yet scored only 1 goal this season.
If we are still in contention for the title by January, we should look to invest on a goal-scoring winger

Teams area doubling on Vinicuis , Mbappe, Kvara, Doue , Barcola & Olise as well
 
poor game in general tonight but thats allowed what i couldnt understand he didnt try beat his man in their half of pitch but in second half three time he tried to dribble though three men on edge of our box maybe out ball to nico missing late on ?

He does this nearly every game. He can't cross with his left foot, so has to come back.

Tonight his biggest issue seemed to be his eyesight, and his first touch.
 
Usually know early on how he's going to play. Once the right back shut down his first 2 dribbles that was that. Got past him once to get him booked but did little else.

Needs a plan B when the knock down the line doesnt work.
 
I think that Sav is a lost cause, but Doku might develop? Still under 50/50 chance, in my opinion.

Nevertheless, when I watch other teams making diagonal runs and players swapping places, dragging defenders out of position, it's impossible not to think that even Sav might have a chance to be effective if we were only more fluid?
 
Absolutely not his night until he got round his full back for the first time after 40 minutes or so. Was a bit unlucky the second half with their full back man handling him, but definitely wasn't his greatest of nights. No problem - he's got credit in the bank this season
