He's never been at a top club where he's been allowed to just go out and play with freedom.

That last bit is maybe why. At top clubs you don't carry anyone where as smaller clubs will give a quality player license to do what they want.

How many players in one team can you allow to "just go out and play with freedom"? Realistically, maybe one. Let us face it, he has never had the talent of players like Foden and De Bruyne so he would not be given the opportunity ahead of them. He would never be the most talented and creative player on any top team.

Yeah I agree. There does seem to be an inner need to be loved. Everyone has it to a degree but some much more strongly than others.

This sounds like the lifestyle of a recently departed boxing world champ. I hope Jack does not have demons!!
It’s not so much that he wasn’t allowed, but because we never needed him play with freedom.
While at Villa he had the likes of McGinn, Trezeguet, Nakamba and Barkley playing in forward midfield areas meaning Jack did need to take up more varied positions on the pitch because he was so much better than the other players…
He had De Bruyne, Gündoğan, Foden and Mahrez across the attacking midfield areas at City so was never needed in other areas of the pitch.
Even so, he was predominantly a left sided attacker at both clubs:

Agree even David Silva didn't have a licence to do what ever he wanted.
Jacks a good player.
And comes across as a top bloke.
I think he needs to be the main man in a top half team.
Like he was at villa.
And is at neverton.

I was stating he is not good enough to be given a free role for a top team. He can play that role for a mid table team.
At least if you are going to build a straw man, do it more effectively and prepare a cogent point.
